It's really important to remember that the mirror is lying to you. You're hot. In ten years you're going to look back at pictures of yourself from right now and realize how hot you were. Don't wait a decade. Accept your hotness now. Wear a crop top. Get the haircut. Remember that you're hot — don't let societal pressure tell you otherwise.

it's simple: in the winter you can't work because you have to be still and rest to stay warm and conserve energy. and in the summer you can't work because you have to be still and rest to stay cool and conserve energy

For me at least the idea of a revolution is not JUST overthrowing things, you also should build something to replace the stuff that you overthrew. Otherwise what's the point? Do you think a better thing will arise by itself?

truly some people have no genre savviness whatsoever. A girl came back from the dead the other day and fresh out of the grave she laughed and laughed and lay down on the grass nearby to watch the sky, dirt still under her nails. I asked her if she’s sad about anything and she asked me why she should be. I asked her if she’s perhaps worried she’s a shadow of who she used to be and she said that if she is a shadow she is a joyous one, and anyway whoever she was she is her, now, and that’s enough. I told her about ghosts, about zombies, tried to explain to her how her options lie between horror and tragedy but she just said if those are the stories meant for her then she’ll make another one. I said “isn’t it terribly lonely how in your triumph over death nobody was here to greet you?” and she just looked at me funny and said “what do you mean? The whole world was here, waiting”. Some people, I tell you.

I think "fuck you, I hate your work and I will do it myself and I will do it better" is a really funny and epic sentiment. i started publishing poetry because an ex boyfriend of mine was publishing really ass poetry in a bunch of journals and I was like "Jesus christ, this is garbage, I could do that, and I could do it better." now I have a page in the Academy of American Poets and I've published a full length collection and his website says "former poet." You should win by succeeding way harder than they do. Spite is a legitimate energy source.
