theres a youtuber ive watched before he ever hit 1k. hell, before he hit 800. he had subtitles on his first video. manual ones, not auto-generated ones. IF HE CAN DO THAT THEN SO CAN SOME FUCKASS WITH THOUSANDS OR MILLIONS OF SUBSCRIBERS. OR AT LEAST FUCKING PAY SOMEONE TO DO THE SUBTITLES

and i hate the autogenerated subtitles so much. if the person swears or says a slur and it isnt censored, DONT CENSOR IT IN THE SUBTITLES. if its censored in speech, then censor it in subtitles. but if someone says a slur outright, no censoring? put it in the damn subtitles, i dont care, subtitles are for telling you what someone says

if your guy says "motherfucking bitch" then the subtitles should not say "motherf*cking b*tch", "mother******* b*****" or void forbid "[_] [_]" like youtube's autogenerated subtitles do. your subtitles should be saying "motherfucking bitch", UNLESS the guy's speech was censored like motherf[dolphin noise] b[dolphin noise], then you subtitles say "motherf[dolphin noise] b[dolphin noise]"

My "100% Australian wool" is "made in China". They shipped this stuff halfway around the world, spun it, dyed it, then shipped it back. Every time I see shit like this I'm reminded of how absurd it is that worldwide wage inequality makes this the most cost effective solution.

My country produces so much wool. It's one of our main industries. There is no practical reason why it's better to build the factories for cleaning and spinning and dying that wool in other countries, except to take advantage of worse environmental regulations and worse wages and worker's rights. In practical material terms it makes far, far more sense to build those facilities as close to the sheep farms as is practical, taking into account factory emissions, population (factories need workers) and storage options. This shit was dragged over the ocean twice for the sole specific reason of making it somewhat cheaper for me and letting four or five different types of middlemen pocket the money that was effectively stolen from the Chinese factory workers.

Squelch! Squelch is the technical shorthand for noise gating. Your antenna will constantly pick up ambient noise, which is useless and annoying to listen to all day while you wait for a call. Squelch tells the radio to mute the speakers if the overall power of the signal coming through is below a certain level. You twiddle your squelch until it just cuts out ambient noise, and when someone tries to talk to you the extra power from their signal will go above your squelch setting and it'll unmute so you can hear whoever's calling you.
