Seven months after your sixteenth birthday, your parents's divorce is finally done and your Dad, Morgan, has permanent custody of you.

Trying his best to soothe the ache left by the divorce, at the same time he deals with your puberty-fueled tantrums, bad attitude, and his own complicated feelings about being a fresh divorcee, your father decides it's time to turn over a new leaf, and moves the two of you away to Yara Bay, a coastal town where he was born and raised in.

"Summer season is the perfect time to visit, you'll see." Your father tried to cajole you, but you couldn't be less thrilled about this "stupid vacation" if you tried. Still, the two of you pack your bags and leave everything behind anyways.

In Yara Bay, however, you find yourself mollified by the town's charms; the bungalow you and your Dad own now, with yellow paint coming undone from the walls and creaky doors, the neighbors who seem intent on making you feel welcome, the turtles's hatchling season, the secret gems hidden in town, and all the opportunities to have a summer you'll never forget.

Starting over is always difficult, but it's necessary all the same. In Yara Bay, however, there's a whole village ready to catch you if you fall.

𓇢𓆸 Customize the Player Character from name, nickname and surname to appearance from skin tone, eye color, to everything else.

𓇢𓆸 The story is not Stat-heavy, meaning you are free to shape your Player Character however you want: if you want to choose bold dialogue choices, then mix it up with shy ones, or follow a linear path, you can.

𓇢𓆸 Both platonic and romantic routes available, and you can tailor your Player Character's sexuality and romantic attraction as you see fit. (aroace friendly)

𓇢𓆸 Help your Dad renovate Sally, the bungalow (you absolutely did NOT agree with this name) and decorate your own room. Maybe even influence the way your Dad decorates his own room too.

𓇢𓆸 Explore Yara Bay: take up a summer job, help in the hatchling season, go surfing, swim with dolphins, go to bonfire parties, and get up to all kinds of mischief.

𓇢𓆸 MOMOKA "Meria" SUZUNO | MEGUMI "Meria" SUZUNO is the girl/boy next door who greeted you and your Dad with a megawatt smile and a plate of homemade taiyaki when you first arrived, described by them as their family's "comfort dessert".

Dependable and charismatic, Meria is known as the perfect child throughout Yara Bay and you can catch them helping an elderly cross the street, petting a stray cat, or working behind the counter on every shop across the street. Is teleportation also something they are perfect at? Who knows.

But what you do know is this: you can count on Meria to be there for you.

𓇢𓆸 CALIX "Cal" WAVERLEY | CALLISTA "Callie" WAVERLEY is the certified cool child of Yara Bay. Always sunburnt, with windswept hair, and a surfboard under one arm, Cal/Callie is never one to turn down a dare, a party invite, or the chance to catch some waves.

Flighty, with a devil-may-care attitude that translates into always taking it easy and day by day, the people of Yara Bay would say Cal/Callie is the laziest teenager they've ever seen, and they have seen many! Not that this chill surfer is particularly interested in knowing the opinion of others.

If you do manage to catch their attention, though, you'll see that this unbothered stranger actually cares a lot.

𓇢𓆸 EURYALE "Ale" MANAKIS fits all the stereotypes you see in the 2000's romcoms about popular kids: magnetic, extremely attractive, swimming in designer fits whose price tags could carry you through college.

However, one thing Ale sorely lacks is the meanness and malice of their movie counterparts: they are gentle, soft spoken, and deeply interested in marine life, to the point where they'll interrupt a conversation to throw in a marine-themed fun fact they just remembered about.

Euryale is admired by many, and your neighbors have only the nicest things to say about them, but Euryale themself is still figuring things out. Would you be their safe harbor to anchor?

ALASKA "Skip" SANDERS | ARIZONA "Skip" SANDERS is the resident rebel child of Yara Bay, although they only received this title because they skipped recess period at school once to go to Malvina's Diner instead, claiming that "cafeteria food isn't for me". Figures. Also, they are part of a rock band.

Laid-back and sarcastic, Skip is not easy to trust, but you can't help but notice that for all their stupid jokes and sarcastic commentary, they are always there for the people they love, their kindness is the quiet type, and sneaks on you without warning, but they are kind.

Skip is kinda used to seeing the worst in people, but can you prove to them that some people are worth taking a chance on?

Content Warnings include mentions of divorce, portrayal of an unhealthy relationship, teen pregnancy (not with MC or the ROs), loud arguing, and short mentions of a custody battle. All ROs are gender-selectable.

A rhythmic thumping echoes in your ears. Cold, wet earth wedges between your teeth; your tongue feels fuzzy with dirt. You peel open your eyes.

Your pupils blow out, twinned voids drinking in what should be total darkness. Planks of plywood stretch overhead. Panic forces your hands up until you're scratching against the wood, scrambling for freedom. Terror and rage bleed out of every pore.
