Hello! We are the Skyedancer System. We are a member of the alterhuman community, and have been since June 2021.
We’re a system entirely of alterhumans and fictionfolk, many of us having our own ‘types along with the collective ones. We are bodily an adult; minors can interact (except with posts labeled otherwise) but please keep that in mind!

being physically nonhuman and/or having a body like a theriform doesn’t automatically unlearn you of racist and anthrocentric propaganda and ideals. matter of fact being any level of nonhuman or alterhuman doesn’t automatically unlearn you of it either. changing what names you put on yourself doesn’t change the fact that you are still living a lifestyle supported by a habitat that is shaped by systemic racism and human supremacy and sustained by willful ignorance of the everyday evidence of those facts.
this goes beyond the physical nonhumanity misunderstanders in the community too. i’m sick of white alterhumans posting endless lists of labels and microlabels as proof they’re “woke” when being anti-racist and woke isn’t in your fucking identity and self-talk, it’s in your actual actions towards others or by yourself, ESPECIALLY in your reactions to getting criticized for doing something that goes against what you “identify as” standing for.
As someones who've been put off from interacting seriously with the otherkin/nonhuman/therian communities for over a decade for this exact reason, we could fill several pages with ranting on this subject. Maybe we will, someday, but for now I'll offer some reading that I strongly recommend to anyone trying to unlearn these toxic patterns.
Braiding Sweetgrass, by Robin Wall Kimmerer, a Potawatomi botanist, is a brilliant and hopeful read about the ways that indigenous peoples learned from and related to the land, and the ways that the rest of us today can draw from that knowledge to realize kinder, more reciprocal ways of living with the world. Check your local library for it if you can't afford a copy; if mobility is limited, check to see if your library offers ebooks via Libby.
For a shorter read (but honestly do read Braiding Sweetgrass if you at all can), The Myth of a Wilderness Without Humans is an article that addresses a number of the same topics.
Some additional context: one of the most subtle but insidious forms of racism that we see in the community is this attitude that Humans Are Inherently Bad For Nature (which then often generalizes to Humans Are Inherently Bad). People so often treat this as Obvious Fact, when... it's really not! The idea that humans and nature Can't coexist, that they are Fundamentally Separate, is a myth constructed by an exploitative and imperialist society, which erases all of the indigenous cultures that have very different ways of relating to the earth and its beings.
Racism is a many-faceted beast, and to be clear, this is only one facet of it, but it's one that's so pervasive and so unquestioned in the community that I wanted to call attention to it in particular.

I’m glad there’s been more discussion lately on how alterhuman identity can impact sexuality and kink bc it’s something that we’ve been exploring in regards to our own experiences and it’s honestly been really interesting to figure out and look into; we’ve uncovered a lot of connections once we actually started looking at things closer
Like it makes sense that “normal” pregnancy stuff grosses us out but we’re really into eggs and egg laying considering that we’re dragonkin (more reptilian or avian dragons specifically). And us being a dragon also explains why certain anatomy features and things relating to them are such a big thing for us (maws/teeth and vore, horns, tails, wings and preening, etc etc). Size difference and g/t stuff is probably connected too, and petplay is just a great way to express any form of nonhuman identity. Also transformation stuff I feel has a lot of alterhuman appeal
And what we like on objectum fronts being influenced by our fictotypes (eg us liking swords being connected to us being the Player from Block Tales, or specifically our sys’ host liking guns and maybe having a bit of a gun kink bc of being kin with Ze from A ReGect)
Idk this was just me wanting to get thoughts out and I thought it could be interesting to some other folks too. I wish there was a space specifically for these discussions honestly cause putting it here openly on tumblr is. A little nerve wracking xd

I'm a rock! Specifically granite, probably a laccolith that formed like 4+ billion years ago. And yes, I have phantom/mental shifts, they're very peaceful :)
None of my kintypes are overly weird, but describing anything the right way can make it sound weird. Cringe is dead, and I'm a beefalo, a monkey/yeen amalgam, and Ben 10 with a quarterlife crisis
I'm a bison therian due to a past life, and my memories line up with grassfed bison/beefalo ranches. As a bison, I likely got butchered when I was 3-ish years old, and somehow, in my next life, I became what I am now.
I'm gnollkind for psychological reasons, but extremely canon divergent. There's some overlap with the gnolls of Pathfinder, but mostly my canon is my own. Gnolls were created by a wizard as, essentially, cannon fodder to defend his stronghold/kill his enemies, but we were people, not mindless slaves. We wandered off, and centuries or millenia later, my gnoll self was born. We look like this btw:
My Ben Tennyson fictotype is likewise psychological and canon divergent. My timeline diverges from my source's timeline at episode 1, and they never converge. It's also a parallel lige, meaning my Ben self ages at the same rate as my present self, and I experience noemata in more or less real time. My Ben self is 30, married, and has a child. He technically got over his quarterlife crisis a few years ago, but it's funny to talk about.
We’re a Robloxian!! It comes from our collective kintype (Player from Block Tales) but honestly it’s also kinda disconnected from them so we see them as separate identities somewhat. Sometimes we get weird phantom or mental shifts of us being blocky which is An Experience to be sure!
Us being a Robloxian also has influenced our spiritual beliefs too, leading to us practicing pop culture paganism/a fictoreligion! Not gonna get into specifics bc there’s some Community Issues there but it’s a very important thing for us :) Being a Robloxian is also connected to us being objectum lol (our beloved SFOTH swords)

We’re having an interesting experience that may be connected to my archetropy so I’m going to try writing about it (though it may not be the most comprehensible)
So context, I’m an archetrope of The Player Character; the type of blank-slate, player-insert characters that have little to no personality or often even an official design or name. It’s something I discovered relatively recently in the wake of my fictionkin identity as Player from the Roblox game Block Tales (which has since become my main fictive identity lol)
The past while I’ve had an odd connection to the (mostly) blank protagonists of a few other games, most notably the Sinner from Grace and the protag from Doors (who I will call Tourist for simplicity’s sake). I’m not even a Doors fan really and only started playing again because of crossover fics with Grace, which is why it stood out as a bit odd to us that I suddenly had such a strong connection to the Tourist. There’s also the Expendable from Pressure, though not to the same extent as the other two (and again, I’m not really a fan of that game either; only played it like twice)
It occurred to me that it might be connected to my archetropy since these characters (and others I’ve had this sort of connection to) all fall into the field of my trope. None of them feel quite like kintypes except maybe Tourist, though at the same time it’s still a little different from my other ‘types.
Has anyone else experienced an almost kintype-like connection to characters that fall into the range of their Archetrope identity? I feel like it can’t be that uncommon but I’d love to hear others’ experiences with it!
I've tried it a handful of times and it seemed to work, the doors opened sooner, i didnt really expect much to come of it on my end of things, but yeah i'll keep doin this and see the consistency 🤔
I would love to find out also. Because it's very curious that this is an effect, my only guess is posture and how the movement affects it? I'm not sure. But something is going on for sure.

Maybe, but… idk, maybe an inch of difference from posture changes doesn’t seem to add up to the 2-4 feet of distance change I’ve noticed. I don’t have a better answer, but that math don’t seem to math. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So I’ve been questioning being an archetrope of some kind but I’m not quite sure how to word it cause it’s a bit of an odd one
Like I’m near 100% sure I’m an archetrope of like. The blank player/reader insert character like you see some rpgs and visual novels. Is there a more concise way to word this or something cause that is a MOUTHFUL to say and write when trying to explain my identity lol
My system is collectively dragonkin, which is cool. But we have no one collective dragon individual as a kintype, and honestly it feels like the brain gives us each our own sort of... Dragon kinsona? Or something? It's weird!
I might write more detail on this later, but essentially we're all some sort of dragon, but it's not consistent between us at all. With our collective fictotypes, we don't have each individual versions of those to ascribe to ourselves, we just are Hunter and we just are Jon. We're just those characters across the board, without individual appearances or vibes to them regardless of what headmate is thinking about it. But I'm a dragon, and Soul is a dragon, and Chord is a dragon, and those are not the same dragon between us. We're all dragons, but they're all so.. Different.
Which leads to the question, are we all individually dragonkin, or is this just how the collective kintype presents itself? Why is it different than our collective fictotypes? Does absolutely everyone, out of the 500+ of us, have a dragon appearance?
Guess we'll have to think on it! We might start working on figuring out some individual dragon appearances though--see if there's any similarities between them we can find.

Starting: grew up around many clones of myself, went to homeschooling with other versions of me and we all took IQ tests against each other and the strongest got to kill the other ones : D
Got sent a decade into the past bc of accidentally getting involved in a kidnapping scheme and ended up liking living in the past better than the present, even though I had to go around collecting (probably cursed) magic swords that i became unnaturally obsessed with to the point of manslaughter
Also I got a new better dad and a qpp out of the whole thing so (shrugs)
