i know we’re both just messing around pretending to be whole but look at me. if the train was coming would you move. if the ground was falling from under your feet would you even notice or would it just be another tuesday for you. if somebody stabbed you could it hurt worse than you already do. what i’m saying is that i love you but i think we both drive over the speed limit when it’s raining. what i’m saying is that i want to hold your hand and i understand about how you sometimes have to sit down in the shower. what i’m saying is that i’m here for you and if the train comes please move.
i think "turning into a pumpkin" is my new favorite way to articulate the state of things when I am at a function and very overstimulated and it feels like my brain is melting. it's like no i can't be a person anymore i have to leave i'm turning into the pumpkin. the time is up yeah i gotta go. yeah see u later. pumpkin time.

Sewed a little felt fish while watching a movie.

Andrea Nguyen’s shaking tofu: based off Vietnamese bo luc lac or shaking beef, rlly good sauce from pantry ingredients that you stir fry the tofu in, my family serves this over watercress or lettuce or French fries and tomatoes
Mapo tofu: if you have access to a Japanese/Asian grocery store you may be able to buy an instant premade sauce for this, I have this in my kitchen all the time and you can add extra spices (garlic, sichuan peppercorn, etc) if you want to punch it up or just follow box instructions. I use the medium spicy House Foods brand. Tofu, ground meat, sauce, over rice
Agedashi tofu: Japanese tofu, it’s fried and then put in a clear broth, Just One Cookbook has a great recipe
Non-recipes but just general tips: I think tofu is better on its own than trying to be meat! It’s also super forgiving. I usually don’t bother pressing it, it takes forever, usually I just take a block out of the package and maybe put it on a plate with a paper towel while I’m prepping other things. Big fan of cutting it into real tiny cubes and putting them in a ziploc bag with flour and cornstarch and some salt and shaking to coat and then pan frying! Or putting little cubes in miso soup or other noodle soups. Try out different firmnesses, or fried tofu (squishy cubes) or seasoned tofu! Silken tofu also makes a great pudding dessert (dau hu) with ginger syrup

the best thing about rulette 2 is that i do think it adds substantial mechanical improvements to the game design of the first iteration — paul and sam as ‘players’ intended to follow and be called out on rules, interesting new rules/prompts/modifiers, the golden rule concept, etc. — but all of that slowly but surely becomes overshadowed by josh ruben landing by chance on all of the specific rules that transform him into a baby-themed tongue-heavy gyrating monster
