The point of treaties and international law was to prevent the rise of another aggressive fascist expansionist power like Nazi Germany in order to avoid future wars of aggression. International law is nonbinding. If it is now protecting dictatorships and enabling violent aggression the its purpose has failed and it needs to be overruled.
Give Russia's frozen assets to Ukraine. Put boots on the ground in Western Ukraine to free up Ukrainian forces for the front. And give them every weapon they need.
Ukraine is fighting for the world. Russia will not ever stop until they are made to.

Listen, nobody who's ever opened a history book says we didn't do that shit first. Pick an atrocity and chances are there was a time europeans did it on mass to someone for the sake of profit. The difference, is that we have for the most part put that behind us, while the US is just sinking deeper and deeper into it. We're not perfect, and we were a lot worse in the past. But it has been a while since we were the problem
I feel a bit impatient with the way leftists criticize USAID when you point out that defunding it will have and has already had devastating consequences. "Yes, literally millions of people have died, but have you considered that USAID also was the funding vehicle for stupid and ineffectual schemes to overthrow the Cuban government." Like okay. Which of these things do you think I'm sad about losing? It's just like this absurd tendency to pick at some "ummm actually" in the face of a humanitarian catastrophe.
#I read an article that wholeheartedly argued that USAID literacy programs for women in a highly patriarchal country was imperialist#because that country traditionally had a strong oral tradition of which women were the primary keepers.#And teaching them literacy led to the decline and erasure of that culture.#I shit you not I read this on JSTOR with mine own two eyeballs.#God forbid non-Western women.... read?? And work?? And escape patriarchal abuse??

PARAMOUNT+ ANNOUNCES AN ADVANCE THEATRICAL SCREENING EVENT FOR UPCOMING FILMWE WILL DANCE AGAIN, DOCUMENTARY ABOUT THE OCTOBER 7THTERROR AT
this has been mercilessly review bombed and called âpropagandaâ despite it being documented footage from that day and comprising the testimony of survivors and responders. I canât imagine any other victims of such atrocities or any other documentary subject being maligned this way.
please donât traumatize yourselves by watching if you do not feel able to, we all know what happened and weâve been grappling with that terror and pain ceaselessly, but if you do want to bear witness or support these survivors, victims, and filmmakers, amplify it however you can.
Okay, so let me see what we've learned over the past 10 months.
Mentioning the hostages is propaganda.
Saying the hostages should be returned is propaganda.
Saying Hamas killed civilians is propaganda.
Saying Hamas raped people is propaganda.
Saying Hamas took hostages is propaganda.
Saying any of the above was bad is propaganda.
All of the above is also justifiable resistance.
If you disagree with any of the above, you are justifying genocide.
Probably if any civilians died, the IDF killed them.
Hamas attacked because Zionism, not because Jews.
Whatever Hamas did do means that Israel was oppressing Palestinians in ways that are equally bad or even worse.
Palestinians tried peaceful resistance. It didn't work. This was their only option.
Hamas attacked to Free Palestine. Israel attacked to commit genocide.
Nazis don't hate and want to eliminate Jews, they are Jews.
A concentration camp isn't a place where a marginalized group is imprisoned for medical experimentation, slave labor, psychological torture ("re-education"), and frequent arbitrary murder for funsies.
A concentration camp is a war zone where you can't cross the border without the permission of the neighboring country, which is charging $5,000-$10,000 per person who wants to leave.
Egypt charging refugees thousands of dollars to leave during a war is not war profiteering; it's fine; we don't need to protest it or demand it stops. We just need to help with all the GoFundMes we can.
Colonialism isn't when one country invades others, defeats them in warl
Poland didn't start the Holocaust with 3,300,000 Jews and kill 3,056,000 of them. Certainly not partly because the Polish government and civilians joyfully helped the Nazis hunt down almost every single Jew in the country. Poland DEFINITELY didn't make it illegal in 2018 to say that Poland shared any responsibility "for Nazi crimes committed by the Third Reich."
Obviously, the truth is that the 148,000 Jews who emigrated from post-Holocaust Poland are privileged white settler-colonialist oppressors; made up the vast majority of Israel's population (which by 1949 was 1,174,000); and should just go back to Poland (where there are currently about 5,000 Jews left).
Colonialism itself isn't when a powerful country invades others, uses genocidal rape, torture, and murder on everyone it doesn't enslave, and sends its resources back to the empire. That's just silly.
Colonialism is when people who have been enslaved, raped, tortured, murdered, and chased from country to country in between, for hundreds and hundreds of years, flee back to their homeland.
That's also white supremacy, surprisingly.
And if you call it Jewish Supremacy instead, you can do a fun thing where you not only invert the Holocaust and erase the fact that Jews are STILL a favorite target of white supremacy; you also play into Nazi myths about how Jews think they're better than everyone else!
Department of Health admitted system is âfailing to protectâ the community
Shots fired at a yeshiva, shuls firebombed and businesses vandalised
Jewish surgeons are leaving Britain and Canada. Their patients aren't going anywhere.
A doctor in London said something on television last week that ought to have been a national scandal. Somehow, it wasnât.
He told ITV News that colleagues of his had said that if an Israeli arrived in the emergency room, dying, they would not treat him. They wouldnât refuse his referral to their care. Theyâd purposely let him die on the gurney, on the principle of where he was born.
The doctor goes by Baruch. He would only give his first name. He and his wife, Daniella, are packing up their home in Golders Green and moving to Israel, and the ITV crew filmed them doing it. He mentioned, almost in passing, that he had also seen Jewish patients refused kosher meals. The Department of Health called his account âshockingâ and admitted, in writing, that the medical regulatory system is failing to protect Jewish patients and staff.
Hold the part about the dying patient for a second, because it is the whole story in miniature.
A hospital works on one promise. The person who comes through the door gets treated. You do not check his passport. You do not poll the room about his politics. The promise is older than any of us, and it is the reason a stranger will let another stranger cut into his chest. The Hippocratic Oath that all doctors swear to. When a doctor decides that a nationality is grounds to withhold care, that oath hasnât just been broken. It has been abandoned by the people who need to keep it the most.
That is what makes the medical version of antisemitism different from everything else in the news. You can argue forever about flags and slogans, about what a particular chant really means when ten thousand people sing it while marching in a Jewish neighborhood. You cannot argue about a man bleeding out in front of you. The case is closed before it opens.
Baruch is not imagining the weather around him. The same week his interview aired, Lord John Mann published a sixty-page review of antisemitism in the UK National Health Service (NHS.) It found that Jewish staff âsuffer in silence,â that they face what the report calls routine ostracism, and that Jewish staff are the only religious group in the NHS for whom discrimination from colleagues is rising rather than falling. Some are thinking of leaving the service. The government accepted the recommendations and promised new training and standards. Good. But training is a plan for people who haven't yet made up their minds. It does nothing about the colleague who already decided some patients aren't worth saving.
In April, the Jewish Chronicle profiled three British doctors who had already left the NHS for Israel, among them a young pediatrician from north-west London and a GP who said plainly that she could not have coped with the antisemitism her Manchester colleagues were living with. Across the Atlantic, Dr. Emmanuel Moss, chief of cardiac surgery at Montrealâs Jewish General Hospital and one of Canadaâs leading robotic heart surgeons, has resigned and is moving to Atlanta. He cited the climate in the city, where synagogues have been firebombed and bullets were fired at a yeshiva.
Look at the job titles. A cardiac surgeon. A childrenâs doctor. The clinicians you want on the schedule when it is your kid on the table at two in the morning. These are not people who spook easily, and they are not cheap or quick to replace. A surgeon takes well over a decade to train. When that is who decides to go first, you are not watching people flee an inconvenience. You are watching them flee an actual risk.
Here is the honst part, and it cuts against the alarm. By the raw numbers, there is no exodus. The Institute for Jewish Policy Research looked at the data this spring. In 2025, 742 British Jews made aliyah, the highest count in over forty years. But that figure still sits inside the normal range of the last two decades, which runs from about four hundred to about seven hundred a year. Roughly one Israeli moves to Britain for every British Jew who leaves for Israel. JPRâs director put it flatly: there is no Jewish exodus from the UK, at least not yet. So if you want to file all of this under noise, the spreadsheet will let you.
The spreadsheet is measuring the wrong thing. A census counts volume. This was never about volume. It is about composition, about which people are the first to quietly conclude they have no future somewhere. When the early movers are the surgeons and the paediatricians, the number on the page can stay small while the signal screams. The canary in the coal mine was never impressive by weight, either.
Britain and America, of all places, should be able to read this signal because they were once the lucky recipients of the same event running the other way.
In the 1930s, Germany and Austria purged their Jewish physicians. First, the 1933 civil service law pushed them out of public positions. Then, the regime forbade Jewish doctors from treating non-Jewish patients, and by 1938, it had stripped their medical licenses outright. The doctors did not vanish. They got on boats. A great deal of them landed in London and New York and rebuilt Anglo-American medicine and science over the following half-century. The countries that opened the door spent the next hundred years collecting the dividend.
Germanyâs own healthcare measurably degraded once so many of the healers were gone, with child and maternal health indicators sliding in the wrong direction. The lesson is not subtle. A government can revoke its doctors' licenses for who they are. It cannot revoke the illnesses those doctors were treating. The patients stay. The expertise leaves. The gap between the two is filled with funerals.
What is happening now is that same experiment, this time running in gentler register. Nobody is passing a law. No license is being torn up. The pressure is ambient and plausibly deniable. A kippah that comes off before the ward round. A colleague who muses that some patients arenât worth the trouble. A regulator the government itself concedes is not doing its job. Doctors are trained to detect diseases from their earliest signs. Thatâs exactly what they are doing, and itâs making them choose to leave.
The cost is not theoretical. The NHS is carrying roughly 100,000 vacant posts. More than four in ten of its licensed doctors are qualified abroad. On any given day, the service is busy persuading physicians in Lagos and Manila to uproot their lives and come to fill a British ward. In that same season, it is handing the doctors a quiet list of reasons to go. A health system that imports clinicians by the planeload while supplying its own with reasons to leave is losing a race it set up against itself.
This is the cost that gets lost when the conversation stays on antisemitism as a question of feelings and offense. The Jewish doctor who leaves does not take only himself. He takes the operations he would have performed, the residents he would have trained, and the night shifts he would have covered for a colleague whose child was sick. The loss is borne by whoever needed that surgeon and now waits longer, or does not get seen, and will mostly never know the trade that was made on his behalf.
Moss will be in Atlanta. Baruch will be in Israel. The patients they would have treated are still here. So is whatever it was that convinced them it was time to leave.
#the insistence on keeping palestinians in a place of limbo and eternal refugee status and rage has killed so many innocent people#on both sides#it shouldnât have persisted like this
Actually you SHOULD make problematic content. You SHOULD explore dark or taboo topics. You SHOULD have a space where you can cope with your traumas or explore sensitive topics in a way that doesn't hurt anyone.
Also you should make problematic content for funsies. You don't need to have had trauma or need to be coping in order to explore dark creativity. You can just be a human who wants to explore dark and taboo topics because you want to. That's completely normal, btw.
Every single person on this planet thinks about dark and taboo things. It's literally the most normal thing in the world.

I remember when I was younger, anytime I watched a movie where the characters have to kill a scary monster/alien, I always thought the act of killing it was intended to be part of the horror. Like thereâs this amazing creature that weâve never seen before, and maybe under different circumstances we couldâve coexisted with it, but itâs trying to attack you and you have to defend yourself, but by destroying it you also destroy the ability to ever understand it and thatâs sad and is supposed to make you feel conflicted.
It was not until well into my adulthood that I realized most people do not have complicated feelings about movies where people have to kill a scary alien monster, nor is that necessarily meant to be part of the narrative (unless it very obviously is). They just want the scary thing to die because itâs scary. I donât have a real conclusion to this I just started thinking about it for some reason.
Abortion on demand without exception. Your distaste for whatever reason someone has for that decision means fuck all to the right to bodily autonomy actually. Not your body, shut the fuck up.
The morning of August 3, 2014 began like every other morning in Kocho.
Then the trucks arrived.
Nadia Murad was 21 years old, living in a small farming village of about 1,700 people in northern Iraq. She was Yazidi, a member of one of the oldest religious minorities on earth, a community that had survived centuries of persecution and still held onto its language, its traditions, and its land in the hills of Sinjar.
ISIS had decided they would not survive this.
The men of Kocho were separated first. Nadia's six brothers were marched to the edge of the village. Her mother was taken with the older women. They were led away together. Her mother did not come home. The younger women and girls were loaded onto buses. They had been given a designation in ISIS doctrine: sabaya. A word that meant they were now property.
Over the next three months, Nadia was bought and sold seven times. She was beaten, burned, and subjected to violence that left her repeatedly unconscious. When she tried to escape and was caught, the punishment was severe. She tried again anyway.
In November 2014, she found a door that had been left unlocked. She ran into the night with no plan, no money, and no certainty of anything except that she could not stay. A Muslim family in the neighborhood took the extraordinary risk of hiding her. They could have been killed for it. They did it anyway. Through a quiet network of people who refused to look away, Nadia eventually reached a refugee camp, then Germany, then safety.
She was free.
And now she had to decide what to do with that freedom.
She could have disappeared into a quiet life. No one would have blamed her. Nadia chose differently.
In December 2015, she walked into the United Nations Security Council chamber. She was 22 years old, speaking in Arabic to a room of presidents, ministers, and ambassadors. She did not use diplomatic language or careful abstractions. She named what had been done, in detail, without euphemism. She described being selected like livestock. She spoke about the youngest victims, girls as young as nine years old. She spoke for twenty minutes. When she finished, the chamber was silent.
That silence rippled outward. In 2016, the United Nations formally recognized what had been done to the Yazidis as genocide. Nadia co-founded Nadia's Initiative, an organization working to rebuild water systems, schools, and clinics in the ruins of Sinjar, giving survivors not just recognition but something to come back to.
In 2018, at 25 years old, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, the first Iraqi in history to receive it. At the ceremony in Oslo, she did not celebrate. She stood at the podium and reminded every leader in that room that thousands of Yazidi women and children were still missing. Still captive. Still waiting. She used the most prestigious peace prize on earth as a platform for those who had no voice left.
Nadia Murad is 32 years old today.
She is still speaking. Still demanding. Still refusing to let the world forget that a village called Kocho existed, and that the people who were taken from it had names, and families, and lives that mattered.

Personally, I think many subconsciously but some very intentionally are doing this, because they want to push aside black people in the same way they treat Jews.
They just view black and jewish people as a stepping stone for "the real WHITE revolutionaries and God King Bernie Sanders" to take over and rule unquestioned and unchallenged.
Everyone and everything, from Palestine to Israel to the Civil Rights Movement is just collateral damage for their unending egomania and narcissistic wound of being denied their "rightful" place as white "liberators" and benevolent dictators.
Absolutely. The Far Left is not just deeply antisemitic but also deeply antiblack. These people are just racists who didn't fundamentally change from the people their MAGA voting parents are. They just want to feel cool and hip and rebellious about hating black people and Jews and destroying human rights. The modern Democratic part was built by Black people and Jews and Black and Jewish voters are the most reliable Democratic voting base. So it's pretty clear what the loathing these "Leftists" have for the Democratic party is really about. It's why all their "activism" is about anger and destruction and hate, not about actually building things. They could center the voices and work of Palestinian peace activists like those at Realign for Palestine but instead they talk over them and appropriate their struggle becase they don't because they don't actually care about helping anyone. They just care about something to say to make themselves feel righteous while they hurl racist slurs at black political candiates, smash synagogues, howl for the death of all jews, attempt to erase Black history and demean and harass every Black person in a position of authority.
It's no different than MAGA or members of the KKK claiming they are "defending" America when really they are just a hateful force of destruction.
A small additional detail about Platnerâs waffen ss totenkopf tattoo is that he replaced it with a celtic knot in the shape of a dog or wolf.
which⌠is certainly less inherently problematicâif it werenât covering a totenkopf I wouldnât think twice about itâbut knowing how Celtic culture is fetishized by White Supremacists, it doesnât really detract from the original problem as much as one would hope.
Let me tell you something about young, angry, military men. They are in a culture of violence, and many of us got tattoo's, especially of skulls. The cooler the better.
I'm not attributing a good reason for a bad tattoo, but not everyone knows the meaning behind every tattoo. I would suggest looking at the Russian mob tattoo's or the Yakuza. I knew a ton about the Nazi's and fascism when I was in the service, but I had no idea what this particular tattoo meant until I was twenty years older.
I know a lot of people are complaining about it and now complaining about how he covered it with another tattoo from another culture. He could have covered it with flowers and you'd be mad about that too, especially if those flowers were done in the Japanese style. Some people would likely associate that with war era Japan.
Have you never been young? Have you never made a mistake? Are you serious? Or are you someone who simply wants Collins to win because you didn't get your favored candidate? Or maybe you're a republican operative trying to piss off all the young people into skipping the vote? I am not sure which many people are anymore, but if I had the choice between Platner and Collins, I'd choose Platner for the time being. There is another election in six years. Which of these two people isn't part of a political party trying to destroy the nation?
I am dead fucking sick of people saying shit like oh I knew a ton about Nazis but I didn't know what that symbol meant and it's normal for young angry men to get fascist tattoos, it doesn't mean anything
Do you think I'm stupid, or are you admitting that you are unforgivably stupid? Is it both? It feels like both
as someone who was also in the military, if you were hanging around a lot of guys with nazi tattoos, you were hanging around a lot of nazis. whether you were smart enough to realize that, idk. maybe *some* of them didn't realize they were nazi tattoos and just thought they were...cool...
like, sorry your friends were nazis, but it's past time to get your shit together and realize that.
the worst tattoo of the people i ever intentionally hung out with was a comic panel of spider-man doing a line of coke that said 'speeder-man'
Yeah, I donât trust anyone presenting themselves as a WWII buff/someone who knows a lot about Nazis and saying they donât know the totenkopf. Behind the SS bolts and the Hugo Boss silhouette, itâs one of the most recognizable parts of SS regalia.
Itâs so recognizable on a pop culture level itâs literally what the skit that the âAre We the Baddies?â meme is from was joking about. Itâs there in the meme
Random person on the street might not know. The state of Holocaust education is absolutely terrible, so I wouldnât be surprised to hear a person say the only Nazi symbol they recognize is the swastika.
But Graham Platner absolutely did. He âjokedâ to friends about it being a Nazi symbol; he called it âmy totenkopfâ. He knew.
additionally i am under the impression via art friends that THE TATTOO ARTIST WOULD KNOW. that lot gets trained in recognising nazi symbols/dogwhistles/gang symbology/etc and the reputable shops are pretty intense about not doing those. it certainly would not have been in a portfolio of predrawn options unless he specifically went to a nazi shop (because any non-nazi establishment would lose all their normie clientele if they found out they inked someone with a nazi symbol)
As someone with 4 tattoos (two of which are the start of a sleeve), Iâm not going to get a symbol permanently inked on my skin without making sure itâs not some kind of fashy/nazi shit.
Yeah, also even if you somehow didnât recognize a particular symbol, Nazism is about more than just a symbology. If ur hanging out with a lot of Nazis It means that you were totally OK with their behavior and with their ideology and that is disgusting and very much a you problem.
Why are you the sort of person whose friend group consists exclusively of Nazis?
Sounds like normal people could spot you a mile away for the gross weirdo bigot u are and wete able to avoid you and your other Nazi friends just fine.
âIf ur hanging out with a lot of Nazis It means that you were totally OK with their behavior and with their ideology and that is disgusting and very much a you problem.â
EXACTLY. You are the company you keep.
