so, like, i feel a lot of us have interpreted the virobot dispute as a uniquely terrible relationship ending fight for them entirely on its own, right? i've also seen the take that chosen was extremely passive and conflict averse with dark, and this was their first REAL fight, which is what made it such a bad one. stuff like that.

but i just noticed last night that dark WASN'T fighting to kill. i have no goddamn clue how this has managed to slip past me for so long. the virobots aren't hurting him when they overwhelm him, they're just restraining him.

notice that the virobots aren't actually doing anything here beyond piling on top of chosen. and the moment dark thinks TSC is dead, he dismisses them to go start on his world domination scheme. he was only incapacitating chosen to keep him from interfering. if dark actually wanted to kill him, he could have done so extremely easily.

given chosen's reaction to seeing dark in AvA 13 and the fact he wasn't the one to kill him, i don't think it's unreasonable or a hot take to say that chosen wasn't fighting to kill either.

so with that all in mind...

what does it say about their relationship that dark didn't hesitate to try reconciling IMMEDIATELY after he & victim got into a huge fight, where she actually WAS 100% aiming to kill?

caine, in contrast, was built to make fun things for the humans under his care (well, he was built to make things, the second part came later but i digress). he responds to intense psychological agony by making things and trying super extra hard to be happy and to make others happy. but because he's not human and therefore has extreme difficulty interpreting what would actually be helpful to his humans, he fails, and they're miserable and traumatized. which, of course, leads to the insecurity/god complex spiral.

I'm so normal about these two WHY are they so DOOMED BY THE NARRITIVE

No im not normal about the fact that despite everything Chosen still reached out to Dark hoping he would help him, and NO im NOT normal about actually SEEING the fact that Dark's code is still active. or the fact that chosen was called the angel of death and now dark built giant HORNS. these two make me so ILL

I'm holding out hope (im on copium) that the hollowheads will all at least have some sort of happy ending. or at least closure. DARK IS PLAYABLE IN ANIMATION VERSUS SO SURELY RIGHT? AAAA
