This is based off a funny au and idea I discussed with @cookielovetorun. With Pitaya being every baby dragon's mother quite literally. Pitaya lays eggs.
It was a rather terrifying sight when a dragon comes across their way. Especially when you JUST got done vanquishing an EVIL STONE DRAGON!!
A few had looked up hearing the faint flapping noises over the loud music and cheering of the celebration to celebrate the new peace in Martial Tarts. But it wasn't until one terrified cookie noticed the rapidly approaching large figure getting closer and closer and bigger and BIGGER did they freeze and point!
"DRAGON!! IT'S A DRAGON!!"
All dough broke loose. Most cookies screamed and ran for their lives. Some dove inside homes or under stands even behind trees desperate for the nearest hiding places. The bravest among them immediately drew weapons as a guest of wind blew over them all and Earthbread shook as the large pink beast landed in the middle of the celebration. Tables with food and drinks fell over from the shaking as they reared their head back to glare red and black eyes like hellfire down at everyone. Their jaw opened revealing large sharp fangs that could tear down solid steel-
"KKKIIIIIIDDDDDSSSS!!!", it's voice roared over the air and echoed for miles. "WHERE ARE YOU!?"
"HI, PITAYA!!" Immediately that giant head snapped around towards a small quartet of children who were the only ones who stared up at the dragon without any fear. "Did you come to join the festival too!? There's lots of juice!"
"WHERE'SSS DRAGON EYE!?"
Gingerbrave Cookie pointed right next to him as the smaller white dragon just munched on a cake while waving an arm at the large dragon. "Right here? You knew where they were."
"NO! I KNEW YOU WERE HERE!! NO ONE THOUGHT TO TELL ME THEY TAGGED ALONG WITH YOU THREE TO AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CONTINENT AND FOUGHT AGAINSSSST A DAM SSSTONE DRAGON!!!"
"Hey. I-It's ok." Strawberry Cookie tried to calm them down as everyone who was watching either shook with fear or watched in complete confusion or shock between the four children and the giant dragon.
"NO! NOTHING ABOUT THISSS ISSS 'OK!' NO ONE THOUGHT TO ASSSK ME WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT-!!" They paused...before they took a deep inhale and exhaled through their nose blowing out smoke. "I don't have time for thisss. You know what!? You four are coming home thisss insssstant!"
Some cookies screamed and at least one woman fainted when the dragon opened it's mouth and snapped it's jaws around the four children screaming in protest. Some cookies brandishing weapons ran forward to 'save' them but were pretty much harmless butterflies where the dragon was concerned as it casually turned around still stewing and just took off with another large flap of it's wings. The gust of wind sent the few cookies chasing them flying back along with whatever wasn't tied down.
Pure Vanilla Cookie was quite surprised to receive a visit from the Red Dragon who dropped Strawberry Cookie, Gingerbrave, and Gingerbright at his feet before scooping up the small white dragon who on instinct cutely leaned into their parent. The anger burning in their eyes could've combusted him if they had that power.
"Keep a better eye on your children! Next time I'll jussst keep them myssself if I have to go get them!"
Then they just simply turned and left without another word. The children were back home safe and with a trusted adult so they had no other reason to stay there besides the Red Dragon had ANOTHER long trip to an entirely different continent to make. It took them nearly a whole week of flying and taking breaks between flying to rest and feed their baby, but eventually they made it to a large isle in the middle of the ocean. Bright green asparagus trees sprouted for miles under them as they flew and continued to fly until with a shaking of earth they landed in front of a large glorious mansion with statues of their noble kind everywhere.
They stood there for a few seconds shaking their body out before giving off a roar to announce their arrival as a small white figure looked around from their back.
"Why are we here, Mother?"
They snorted. "Getting your brother." Their child then attempted to climb off the much larger dragon's back but was pushed back up by their wing. "No. No, Dragon Eye! I sssaid we're getting your brother. I didn't sssay we were ssstaying!"
Well someone finally came. A small cookie with a green headdress and uniform which they recognized instantly as one of the dragon breeders of Dragon Breath Isle. Turquoise eyes stared up at them in complete shock probably at seeing a dragon that wasn't an Asparagus Dragon on the isle before her face lit up. This was ...Roasted Bacon Cookie if they remembered it right.
"Dragon of Fertility!"
Immediately their eyes narrowed. "Would you all ssstop calling me that!? I am the Red Dragon!! RED!! OR GREENISH-RED!!! Call me 'Fruit Dragon' or 'Dragonfruit Dragon' if you want but I did NOT sssign off on being named after my love life!!"
"My apologies! Have you come to bare fruit with the Asparagus Tribe once more? I've already made a list of compatible partners for you in case you ever returned!" She seemed WAY too excited at the possibility of taking care of dragon eggs.
"Where'sss my ssson!?" They were just going to get to the point of why they were here and leave. Dragon Eye was starting to get antsy and they wanted to get off and wonder off.
She blinked. "Argo? He's in the middle of his history lessons."
"GET HIM!!" They growled shoving their face into hers. "NOW!!"
The cookie jumped feeling the hot breath waft over her but turned and ran off quickly disappearing among the buildings and trees. And they stood there waiting. And waiting...And waiting.
"Can I go explore?"
"NO."
And waiting a few more minutes until FINALLY through the trees came bounding a young green dragonling with an anxious cookie beside them. The young dragon lit up seeing the giant pink and green dragon and the little white dragon barely visible poking their head around their neck.
"Mother!" He came right up to them in pure happiness. "I missed you! What are you doing here?"
The larger dragon didn't even say a word. Instead their mouth opened wide and Roasted Bacon Cookie nearly screamed when their jaws just snapped around the much smaller dragon's body. The small dragonling gave a loud sound of confusion himself as he was suddenly snatched up like a cake hound carrying their favorite chew toy. Then their parent turned around, spread their wings, and without saying anything launched themselves into the air with a loud flap that sent Roasted Bacon backwards onto her behind as she watched the Red Dragon just kidnap the heir to the Asparagus Tribe.
"Mother! Mother, wait!" The green dragonling squirmed in their parent's jaws. "Where are we going!?"
"I have no idea. They've just been all over the place lately."
The green dragon turned to their much smaller half sibling with a blink. "WHAT!?"
"Oh sure. Martial Tarts, the Vanilla Kingdom, and now Dragon Breath Isle! Really a long road trip. I didn't even get to bring any toys."
Pitaya rolled their eyes with a mental sigh. It would be a LONG trip back and they STILL have to make one last stop before they could go home.
Crying sounded out and echoing around the nursery as a nervous Flower Dragon tried and failed to sooth the screaming baby that only kicked against their arms and continued crying to the point their face was red and puffy from literally crying off and on for days now. No amount of pampering, playing, or other tricks had worked to calm the baby and Lotus Dragon Cookie was certainly feeling the effects of days without sleep if the bags under their eyes were anything to prove it.
"My darling. Sweetheart. Little flower bud. Please stop crying. Parent is tired and wants to take a nap." In response the baby sniffled staring up at Lotus's tired face-
"WWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHH-!!!"
Lotus winced from the defeaning SHRIEK that escaped their open mouth and from two halls down a maid knocked over a vase in surprise from the noise. HOW COULD SUCH A LOUD SOUND COME FROM SOMETHING WITH SUCH TINY LUNGS!?
"Baby, please! Just tell me what you want and I'll get it for you."
SLAM!!
There was no warnings when the door was thrown open making the dragon jump and turn their head towards the other dragons standing there absolutely FUMING from the doorway. At least their baby had stopped screaming and was now hiccuping also staring watery eyed at the third dragon who decided to show up.
"Pitaya! Where have you been!?"
"I had sssome important unfinished bussinesss to take care of!!" They walked right in without waiting for Lotus's permission scowl turning into a glare once they saw the child in their arms. "I leave SSSnapdragon in your care for jusst two weeksss and I come back to hearing them crying loud enough for the neither world to hear!"
"I've been trying everything I could to calm them down. I just don't know why they've been so fussy."
"Gee. Let me think about that." They tapped their chin. "Could it be-..I don't know. THE FACT YOU PUT THEM IN THOSSE ROBESSS WHEN I TOLD YOU THEY HAVE SSSENSSORY ISSSUESSS WITH THE DAM FABRIC!!" They pointed at the utterly ridiculous blue and green fabrics Lotus had once again dressed their child in. "Have they been in thessse the entire time I was gone!? Jussst what wasss going through your mind!?"
"It's not hurting them. Snapdragon just hasn't gotten used to the feeling yet." Lotus held up the sniffling baby that automatically held their arms out to the pink dragon. "See? Don't they look adorable? They just probably missed Mommy.~"
Pitaya just stared at them.
".....Give. Me. MY. BABY!"
Said infant was snatched from their hands- RRRRIIIPPPP!!! Shreds of blue and green fabric fell to the floor at their feet between then as Lotus stared in offense and Pitaya bounced a still hiccuping baby dragon.
"There. That feelsss better doessn't it? All that yucky feeling fabric off you." They shot a glare and growl towards Lotus's way. "Daddy'ss too ssstupid to follow sssimple insssstructionsss!" Then they turned and for good measure whacked some of the shreds towards Lotus's face as they left. "Let'sss go home. I got a big sssurprisse for you."
"PITAYA!! It's still my agreed custody time!"
"NOT ANYMORE, SSSALAD BRAINSSS!!," they shot back still walking away. "I'm tired of mating with idiotsss!!"
SLAM!! The door was slammed back shut behind them hard enough for a giant crack to form half way down the door. SQUEAK!! A plush dinosaur fell over next to the Blue Dragon.
They blinked. "Wait..'Idiots'?"
Aaaaaahhhhhh...
It was SO GOOD to be back in the familiar heat of Dragon's Valley! The sweet smells of smoke and burning rock filled their nose as they smiled and casually walked into the cave. Babbling baby already teething on their hair and dragging a dead bananasaurus behind them freshly hunted. Deeper and deeper into the cave system
"I'm back! And I brought back dinner!"
From the nest two heads poked out and in went a third when they placed Snapdragon inside with their two older siblings. There...that was better. It felt good having all three of their children in one place and it was going to remain like this for a while.
"Mother?" They hummed turning to Argo. "Isn't Father going to be upset you just-...Took me without telling him?"
"I don't give a dam! Maybe he should've thought about that before hiss drama with that cookie mate of hiss causssed him to turn hiss life into a sssoap opera! I'm not having my child being sssecond place to their sssstep mother! Until they get their dough together you're living here!.....Now which part of the dinosssaur do you want and do you want it roasssted or raw?"
The peace for them and their little ones lasted exactly four and a half days. Letting the kids do whatever they wanted (under supervision and away from the lava pitts of course). One moment they were play hunting with the two youngest, the next Pitaya slowly stood up with Dragon Eye clinging to their horns before they slowly reached up to pry the two youngest off with a scowl.
"Argo, watch your sssiblingss. I'll be right back. All of you ssstay here."
Said green dragon looked up from the book Pitaya had given him. "Mother? Where are you going?"
"Jusst do asss you're told!"
The three half siblings were confused.
"Bwaaa ba byuuuuwahe!"
"Hey! Don't look at me."
"Oh this ought to be interesting."
Argo didn't have time to ask what his younger sibling meant by that.
"WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU ALL THINKING!?"
All three stared up towards the entrance way of the cave.
"WERE YOU EVEN THINKING SSSTRAIGHT WHEN YOU JUST LET DRAGON EYE SSSWALLOW ONE OF YOUR WITCH DAM ORBSSS!?!?! WHAT THE FUCK WAS OUR CHILD DOING IN MARTIAL TARTSSS WITHOUT THEIR PARENTSS!?!? YOU'RE LUCKY I WASSS BUSSY WITH THREE HATCHLINGSSS OTHERWISSEE I WOULD'VE FUCKING KICKED YOUR ASSS SSO HARD YOU'D HAVE TO BE IN HIBERNATION FOR A MILLION YEARSS TO FUCKING RECOVER FROM ME SHOVING MY SSSWORD UP YOUR ASSS!!!"
The three slowly looked at each other. And all at once all three got up and went to go poke their heads around the corner to see what the yelling was about. What they found was a down right angry pink dragon with literal smoke seeping from their mouth with each word furiously yelling at three other dragons who stood at the entrance way. One blue, one white, and one bigger than the other and green. Their. Mama. Was.

"I CAN'T TURN MY BACK FOR ONE DAM SSSECOND WITHOUT ONE OF YOU THREE FUCKING UP CAN I!? NOT FOR ONE DAM DAY!! NOT ONE OF YOU LISSSTENSS TO A FUCKING THING I SSSAY TO YOU!! SSSNAPDRAGON'SSS SSSCALES ARE SSSENSSITIVE!! THEY DON'T NEED YOU SHOVING YOUR SSSTUPID FASHION DOWN THEIR THROATSSS!! JUSSST BECAUSSSE THEY HAPPEN TO BE THE SSSAME SSSPECIESS ASS YOU DOESSSN'T MEAN YOU KNOW BESST!! HOW MUCH DO THEY HAVE TO CRY BEFORE YOU LISSSTEN!? AND WHY DIDN'T YOU OR LONGAN TELL ME DRAGON EYE WASSS IN MARTIAL TARTSSS!? WHY WASSS MY CHILD FIGHTING A SSSTONE DRAGON ON ANOTHER CONTINENT BY THEMSSELVESS WITHOUT ONE OF US PROTECTING THEM!?"
The green one stuttered out something. "B-But I didn't put Argo i-in any risk-"
"FIX YOUR WITCH DAMN RELATIONSHIP, NAVISSS!!!" Immediately the green dragon recoiled. "I'M NOT HAVING MY SSSON THINKING YOUR DRAMATIC SSSITUATIONSHIP ISSS NOW A REAL RELATIONSHIP WORKSSS!!"
The three children slowly looked at one another.
"Pitaya, please. Try to calm down." Lotus tried to calm the smoke billowing dragon down. "We're just doing what we think is best for the children."
"Agreed. These children are the first in the new era of dragon kind."
"I D O N 'T G I V E A S H I T!!!!"
The cave literally shook making the children wobble with Dragon Eye falling on their behind. A few rocks fell from the ceiling. The three dragons before the pink themselves wobbled and looked startled when a few pink sparks flew out from their mouth with the constant smoke. Lotus took a few steps back. Navis on instinct spread their wings in case of a threat. Even Longan looked wide eyed leaning back slightly.
"I DIDN'T SPEND NINE MONTHSSS BRINGING THEM INTO THISSS WORLD FOR YOU THREE TO FUCK WITH THEIR SSSAFETY AND MINDSSS!!! THEY'RE MINE!! MINE!! MINE!! MINE!! YOU THREE ARE JUSST THE ONESS WHO DONATED DOUGH!! AND IF ANY OF YOU TRIESSS TAKING THEM FROM ME, I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU WHAT THE NEITHER WORLD LOOKSSS LIKE FROM FRONT ROW SSSEATSSSSS!! THEY'RE SSSTAYING HERE UNTIL YOU GET YOUR ACTSSS TOGETHER OR SO HELP ME I'LL DECREASSSE OUR POPULATION SSSSTARTING WITH YOU THREE!!!"
Argo slowly looked at Dragon Eye. "...Should we stop Mom?"
Dragon Eye waved him off not looking the least bit bothered. "Nah. This helps them relieve stress."
