not to continually torture myself with books whose morals i fundamentally disagree with but the perceptions of honour in the stormlight archive are so bizarre. like syl the honour spren unequivocally believes dalinar to be honourable and disregards all his past war crimes + is put off by kaladin wanting to kill amaram who literally betrayed him and slaughtered his entire squadron + she disappears and almost 'dies' when kaladin plans on helping moash with assassinating the king who was responsible in part for killing his parents BUT! she was 100% ready to be used as a weapon by kaladin against parshendi who were clearly not warriors in oathbringer. not to mention that the second oath that kaladin takes to "protect even those he hates", which i think is meant to sound irreproachably noble, is a contradiction to the actions of any sort of fighter because you will be killing people by definition (which is not always bad and often laudable and required).

reading stormlight archives and the arabic-origin names are obvious (kaladin, hasina, nur) and the israeli names are even more disgustingly obvious (moashe after sanderson's israeli editor moshe feder, yonatan and meirav after feder's relatives). i hope they all explode and die ameen.
