was helping set up a used book sale today and found a truly magnificent find. published in 1988, The Cat Empire is a collection of photos of a cat named merlin, billed as "a master of disguise, a chameleon among cats." basically, it's pictures of this cat cosplaying different historical eras/cultures/professions, and i just need to share some of the best ones i found (pardon the lighting, i am not a photographer but these needed to be shared)

complimented a cashier on her turtle pin this morning and she said "oh thanks, I am a little bit of a Turtle Person" with the carefully contained energy of Cookie Monster telling you he's mildly fond of chocolate chips
