kind of crazy how sam just decided to play a woman bc it was something new and kinda stumbled into the crushing guilt of a woman realizing she cant be content with a domestic life simply serving her family and feeling like she's failed as a wife and mother

worst part of that shepard/jack story idea i came up with is that i subsequently came up with a SECOND idea in a different genre that would also be super cool and now i'm trying to decide if i can differentiate these ideas enough to make them two distinct things

*with increasing insanity* the thing is that the protagonist and the LI would be swapped in each concept and because different genres work differently they'd be occupying completely different narrative roles and is it possible to to write two different stories inspired by the exact same dynamic that would look and feel completely different at the end???

I do consider Veth showing up, dropping off some money, giving her kid a previous undiscussed puppy, a dangerous & annoying new toy, making a bunch of promises to the kid that the other parent will be 100% responsible for fulfilling, and then fucking off completely to be an example of a woman excelling in a male dominated field.
