I don't know if getting a good grade in post submission is normal to want, but with the star tag it's possible to achieve.

It surely is possible!! And it's super easy too, all you gotta do is submit a post with one, high quality, preferably horizontal image, then beneath it write the name of the place and the country it's located in, and put the text in big letters. Nothing more, nothing less :)

Now you too can get a good grade in tumblr

There is a not-insignificant part of me that wants to grab the AO3 source code and set up a website for original web serials one can monitise.

Specifically because I want to post my original work online where someone can easily access it, like my mutual @derinthescarletpescatarian does. Which means I must not post it on AO3 because that goes against their TOS for good fandom-protecting reasons.

But I love the layout of AO3. I love making long detailed author's notes at the end of each chapter of my fics to explain why I made certain decisions I made, because I can't shut up about my own work once you get me started. I love the scene breaks, and the way you can add chapter summaries, and organise things into series, and tag stuff so people can find it if that kind of story is what they're after.

And I can't do that in blog posts. Not the way AO3 does.

But I have no money to keep a server running and making such a site just for my work seems frivolous...

Can everyone who makes video content do a Deaf bitch a favor? Watch your shit with the captions on and the sound off, and then do another round of editing to fix things including but not limited to:

Captions cover the spot on the screen you put the information I need

The dialogue is captioned but not the song you have playing that the dialogue is responding to

You only captioned the person on the screen, not the person off screen who is also talking

No captioning of critical sound effects (alarms, bells, dogs barking, etc)

Speakers are not labelled at moments where it is not clear on the screen who is talking.

Captions cover the spot on the screen that you put the information I need!
