it beggars belief that someone would choose to read a book in the “horror” genre, whose literal name promises that it will be full of upsetting, disgusting, frightening—one might even say horrifying—material, and then get mad that the book contains incest or whatever. like holy shit. they are not gonna make it in the real world

the worst part of summer is that people get sooo comfortable expressing their disgust at having to see other people’s bodies. they’re always complaining about wrinkly old men at the nude hot springs or fat women in bikinis at the beach.
