I keep seeing people COMPLETELY misunderstand the phrase "social construct", so im going to explain it as simply as I possibly can:
"Social construct" by definition means: an idea that has been created and accepted by the people in a society.
What does this mean? Almost everything that makes a society IS a social construct. Language? Social construct. Money? Social construct. I could go on but hopefully you get the point.
Social constructs are NOT MEANINGLESS!! They are a foundation to society, theyre important!! They help us understand ourselves, others, and the society we live in! When someone says something (like gender) is a social construct, they arent saying "oh well this is fake and doesnt matter at all" theyre saying "its not a scientific fact, and acting like it is would be detrimental to the entire concept in the first place".

Why should you support, or at least respect, paraphiles?
Stupid little [informational] rant on why there's nothing wrong with paraphilias and paraphilic disorders, yes that includes the bad ones, and why anti-paraphilia is technically ableist. "S-so i'm ableist for not liking pedophilia?!" shut up and listen.
Before I go all out here's some terms you should know ;
anti-contact : someone who doesn't support *practicing paraphilias, more specifically ones that cannot be consented to.
pro-contact : someone who supports *practicing paraphilias
there's also neu-contact, complex-contact, blah blah
*practicing : a paraphile who practices (acts on) their paraphilia
non-practicing : a paraphile who doesn't practice (act on) their paraphilia
okay keep reading for the actual reasons, please repost to spread awareness /nf.
To start, paraphilias are completely uncontrollable just like any other fetish or even mental condition. Their causes are mostly trauma, internet exposure at a young age, and sometimes can be passed down through genetics. Again, they cannot control any of those, so why judge them for it?
Because of the way paraphilias are looked down on, it makes it difficult for them to seek treatment or even supportive communities. Especially younger paraphiles who may not be in a good environment or feel too ashamed to tell anyone about it. Not being able to get help can lead paraphiles to harm others or themselves.
Paraphiles do not choose to be paraphiles, they do choose however, whether they act on their paraphilia or not. If you still don't understand, let me explain it in a different light. Take NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) for example, people view those with that disorder as horrible and abusive (which isn't true mind you.) NPD is also caused by trauma or genetics, and narcissists have the choice of being abusive or not, just like any other person.
So what makes it so different from other mental conditions, especially since paraphilic disorders are also a thing? They're only viewed horribly because of the stereotypes, just like almost every mental condition. Does that make them deserving of being discriminated against, for something they have no control over?
Now take anti-para and replace it with something else, like anti-PTSD or anti-hypersexual, now that doesn't sound like something you'd want to be, does it? Be support of all neurodivergent / mentally disabled people, not just some.
So as I was saying yesterdayyy- Swan and Horror right
I’ve been working on this one for awhile but now I’m pretty comfortable adding it in. Fresh is the Highest worshipper for the Host god and takes on most of the responsibilities for upkeep of the realm
Hes trying to take on horror as his own pet project- which is definitely not verified by his master. But he lies to everyone when asked and just says “yeah dude I’m just training this guy to be a new radical worshiper” which is just a flat out lie.
But you know who else is a really strong host worshipper.. Dream (Swan mostly).. and you know who would snatch someone up if you told them they were being trained in magic.. swan would. Swan is literally the most apt to train new worshipers and is much more skilled in teaching then Fresh. He’d be sooo happy to have a new solider and Fresh literally can’t do anything about it because Swan will fight him on it and Fresh will lose.
But it’s also sad I guess that Swan is training someone who will use this new knowledge to kill Atrophy- but he doesn’t know that.
Anyways I do actually think horror would respect Swan almost as much as Atrophy. Both Swan and Atrophy have a pretty commanding presence and Horror is pretty bendable to that..Swan maybe even more-so because he’s just so loud about it.
When I get home I’ll make slop of them because it’s on my mind so much.. I’m just happy because it will fill in a lot of holes I’ve been trying to fix in nightwatch
that scene the third kiss scene, Ed and Stede, with the moon inbetween them yeah?
and their reactions once again being really respectful and understanding, taking a step back and both agreeing on taking that step back (so healthy, so much like a relationship should be, you know what im talking aboutt)
they didnt completely abandon each other afterwards, they did the exact opposite and showed affection in a (damn cute) way. holding handsss (i cannott). the vibe, the characters, the way it was written and the actors all created a scene that wasnt awkward At All.
now im just describing the scene but its just that everything was done completely on purpose and so though through and it differed a lot from what you see on 'basic', straight (not always i know) love stories where the third kiss is where the characters are somehow already completely comfortable with doing that.
this shows so much that even though you both know you want this you can still Take It Slowly. Thats not what you often see and its so beautiful. it shows that you can still have a great damn relationship without kissing each other every six minutes. other types of affection can be just as intimate and can make the moment (more) comfortable.
Plus it was just cute, they were just cute and them holding hands was just really really cute
