Crutchie’s disability is fake. He was written by able bodied people who didn’t live in 1899 and who really didn’t care what he had, just that he had it.

There are inconsistencies. Bc it’s not real.

I hate seeing ppl get mad bc other people have different headcanons abt what Crutchie has.

If person A says it’s polio, they can’t get pissed off when person B writes it as if it was spinal tuberculosis.

If person C thinks it’s muscular dystrophy then let them.

If person E makes up a fake disease called JackKellyitis it’s just as plausible bc the entire thing is fake

I’m all for historical accuracy. And representation MATTERS.

freckles!!! so many freckles (theyre natural on me, I just super mega accentuated them)

eyebrow scar (i got smacked with a stick at camp when I was in elementary school and it left an actual scar, funny enough this is also where I trim my eyebrow for aesthetic purposes, and i couldn't find the right color to fill it in...so I made a creative choice and accentuated that too with concealer, and one of our Delanceys said he was the one who hit me in the face with my crutch LMAO)

GLOVE!!! i made a glove cuz the crutch was hurting my hand (i still have calluses from it and it's been. months-) and I made it out of old tights and marker so it looked all grimey, also thought it'd be a great detail for him considering he's walking everywhere with the crutch </3 it was a super fun detail that I felt was just another way for me to make that role my own???

after I got all sad after "watch me stand, watch me run", one of the Jacks sings his "dontcha know that we's a family? would i letcha down?" and then got close and whispered "no way >:3" in my ear which i thought was the cutest cuz like. he Knew that'd cheer me up n make me laugh if I was actually sad like that

that same Jack almost carried me down the fire escape on his back, we quickly decided against that for safety BUT GOD DID HE TRY

same Jack also lifted me onto one of the platforms we had during the big carrying the banner dance break before "aaaaAAAAªªªªGO!!!" and was overall a cute brother moment

during the same run with this Jack after he slaps his coin on the distribution desk, it rolled off in front of me and I smacked my "bad foot" onto it...then realized what i did and looked at Wiesel in panic-

I helped Jack count the bundle of papes that Davey said was missing one, and confirmed it was indeed 19, not 20

I drew the animated Katherine drawing during the Bowery Beauty scene!!! :D also wrote every headline and animated the writing happening!

the first time the Other Jack played the role in front of an audience, he set his hand on my bare shoulder in a way that slapped REALLY LOUD, and i JUMPED 😭 here's a gif of it and my reaction cuz it was HILARIOUS

when Jack says to Davey "cuz you got a lil brotha, and i dont" i gesture like "um hello what about me???"

I loved giving this Crutchie wavey hair MWAHAHA GO MY SILLYFUL GENES

I was still referred to as he, so technically if you squint, trans!Crutchie and I think that's awesome :"3

I was also still included in major dance breaks such as in Seize the Day (was also in a soft shoe tap number for the finale???) anyway I launched myself into the air with the crutch

I let Crutchie have a bit of a temper! that was a fun angle to incorporate throughout the show, Jack and Davey had to keep simmering me down LMAO

Race riled this temper up a lot....we also batted each other's hats off when Jack sings "even though we ain't got hats or badges" and overall we're screaming together ready to fight during that entire song

during the fight scene the Jacks always kept me behind them and protected in a corner <3

made my own letter for Letter From the Refuge, so it had my own sloppy handwriting, also wrote the "ha ha." and "your best friend, your brother" parts every night OH THEY LET ME USE A REAL CANDLE TOO

oh yeah I had lots of fun with bruise and blood makeup for act 2! I look uhm. like a sad hamster in Letter :"D

last thing: the handcuffs we used were from our school resource officer, so uhhh they were real. from a cop. and one night when we were filming they got caught on me and ate my arm 😔 I was okay tho I had a wig cap tied around the injury LMAOO
