stranger things is arguably netflixās biggest hit Ever. it is a show with millions and millions of viewers worldwide. itās basically the definition of mainstream media right now.
and will, a canonically gay character, has been repeatedly pushed aside by some viewers as āirrelevantā or just as someone who is āgetting in the wayā of the āmeant-to-be heterosexualā couple.
but now, at the end of st5 volume one, the entire spotlight is on will. not only thatāitās on will accepting himself for who he is. itās on him accepting heās gay, accepting heās in love with his lifelong best friend, and, most of all, accepting that itās okay to be exactly who he is. and that is what empowers him.
this is so, so important because itās way too uncommon for something like this to happen, with a confirmed lgbtq+ character, and especially on a show as big as this.
One thing Iāve always hated is where you search up a tag for an underrated character and think youāve found a really good fic only to realize the author tags the entire cast.

I just found out that Andy Weir is thinking about making a PHM sequel and noooooooooo. No, nope, nononono, PMH doesn't need a sequel, it's already perfect as is!!! They saved Earth and Erid, everything is fine, there aren't any plot holes that need to be explained.
Do you know what I would want though? A one season show (EMPHASIS on one season, DON'T DRUG IT OUT) with 15 episodes 30 minutes each that's just Grace's life on Erid. It should be silly with some angst sprinkled in here and there (I need to learn more stuff about Eridian culture). Adrian reveal, how Eridians see Grace, how they handle him, if he's made more Eridian friends, how is a typical school class with a bunch of young Eridians? And maybe one or two episodes about Earth and how they see Grace. If they see him as a hero, if they've built statues of him. I wonder if the church made Grace an actual saint. I want to see Stratt standing infront of a Grace statue, and just... Talk to it. Talk to him.

Thereās a few things going on with this statement.
1. Assuming that low empathy makes someone a bad person. It does not. Actions are what matter, not empathy levels.
2. Demonizing autistic people whose low/no empathy they attribute to their autism. Autism fundamentally impacts the way you interact with the world, others, and yourself. That includes empathy.
