What are some of your Crutchie headcanons :D
so sorry i didn't get to this sooner omg 😭😭 these are some more angsty ones cause i've had some Thoughts about him over the past week:
he has major survivors guilt. his mom died and it was his fault, because his sickness spread to her
he doesn't remember his mother's face, and the rest of his family is blurry
he suppresses and bottles up his emotions like crazy
the reason he wants to go to santa fe with jack is because he doesn't want to just survive, but he wants to thrive as well with his favourite person in the world
he calls davey "david", because that's how he introduced himself and it would be rude not to call someone by their real (or at least preferred) name
on the flip side he calls tommy boy "tuberculosis" (because like. tommy boy. t.b. tuberculosis) and tommy HATES IT
when he first joined the newsies, he followed jack literally everywhere. the other boys joked that he was like his shadow or a baby duck that had imprinted on him
he's definitely become more independent over the years, but he still relies heavily on jack in times of weakness
