What does Vinestripe think of her mom leaving? I imagine Stormclaw had to have left when she was pretty young, maybe a new-claw or brand new ranger. Was that a contributing factor to her behavior that led her to encounter cats like Deathcap? Obviously she's well adjusted now, but I have to imagine that caused some angst
Absolutely! Vinestripe was a very rebellious young cat and she often sided with her mother on things. She actually hated Elmtail when she was younger because she thought that her momma would be a better Captain. Her decision to wander into the Wastes was because she was looking for her mother... Meeting Deathcap changed her outlook on some things and later in life she realized that Stormclaw was actually pretty manipulative of her. She loves Elmtail like a step-dad now.
