Two questions
First how do leaders work of they don’t have 9 lives
And second where can I read your story?
They believe they have nine lives and are given them from starclan, but don't have the 9 cats giving the lives sort of thing as in the books. They just think they are blessed with it after having their leader ceremony. It is clan culture to keep how many "lives" a leader has to themselves, so not even their medicine cats know. So when a leader dies its just assumed by the rest of the clan that it was their last life. Leaders often consider near death experiences and instances of them getting knocked out to be losing a life. Though if the cats really stopped to think about it they would see that a cat having 9 lives is impossible but its so ingrained that they don't question it - the cats will just work around it to make it fit
