I stare at the mirror,

blink and turn away.

I couldn’t walk through if the magic was in my veins.

Cause to travel mirrors,

you need to face the reality that’s yours.

And I don’t exactly know to do that.

I brush my hair, make it shine,

smile at the image, this I like.

I sit next to a friend, in silence or listening,

my brain flashes of that when I’m scared,

this I am acknowledging,

this I like.

I laugh and hide my mouth, but so loud and weird,

that they can’t help but smile.

This is nice,

this I like.

I don’t trust me,

because I don’t know me.

But I can point her qualities,

I can say that I have some good in.

So I’ll list, I’ll play the words,

make myself hear what I need,

a character comforting another, comforting me.

Reminding around that I don’t need to react a certain way,

that I can always act anew,

that I can confide in my friends.

This dance of words I mastered,

this is another thing I like.

Small pearls around the time,

small wisdoms I receive and repeat,

look in the mirror, say a compliment,

write a list of things you do easy,

and cross it progressively,

little things, I don’t invent,

and I like that I can repeat.

Look at me. Look in my eyes. Hold my hand.

We’re together, that’s what I like most about me.

We’re together, and we can do it.
