The Sand Creek 10k finish line and finishers medal.
This was not my favorite run!! The Feat on the Street group that puts this on still needs to learn to bring more bathrooms to the starting area. This race was around Central Park on Stapleton. The only problem was the course looped around the park several times and there really wasn’t much to see. I have had nicer runs in town for Run Club!! But there was a t-shirt and medal!
It was great getting to get out with my wife and run a race on a Saturday morning. We made pretty good time, but it was just a very dull run. I will post the video latter to show everyone. I will also post official race pictures and results when I get them
I have 2 new races on the books!!! One is the Sand Creek 10k in Denver tomorrow morning... My wife wanted to go running with me but decided we needed a race to do it!! The other is the Prairy Dog Half in Castle Rock on July 22. This was because I couldn't wait until October to run another half!! We like to race!! What more can I say?

My longest long training run!! So I have run both a 10 mile and a half both during a race!! Doing 10 miles on a training run is much different!! Luckily @thepocketsquare was with me and slowed down with me when the back half of the run started really taking its toll!! We did both parts of the Coal Creek trail I have shared. The first five miles was great and I was going strong and mostly downhill. It was the back 5 miles that the sun started pounding and the steady low grade to midgrade uphill started to wear on me and almost made me stop!! I also didn't sleep very well because I had to run my wife to the airport early this morning before I hit the trails!! I was already emotionally drained and keeping myself going truly was a test of determination!! I came clise to giving up several times!! I made it!! It was a bit slow but I still made it and in my mind that is what matters!! I'm very proud of the accomplishment and I look forward to doing this again in two weeks!! Thanks @thepocketsquare for sticking it out with me and excepting the slow pace!! It really helped a lot!! I hope everyone has a great run day!! I look forward to being back on the trails Tuesday... I'm having a well deserved rest day tomorrow!! Now I'm off to roll and soak and to try to get a bit of rest.

It was a rainy and dreary run on Coal Creek this morning!!
The run matched my mood this morning!! I had gotten to video chat with my wife last night and all that did was make me miss her more!! That and my parents came up during our time together and that is never fun. I will share more about that in a different post…lets just say that I’m going to have to confront some issues dealing with them soon so I will probably be talking about it more. Needless to say I was a bit bummed at the start of my run!!
This was the first time I went for a run in the rain. It was very different and refreshing until the rain ended and then it was muggy :( Luckily it was still pretty cool with a nice breeze. Thr run really helped my mood and cleared my head. I felt great and I’m looking forward to my Run Club tonight so I kept the run a but short. The trail was pretty quiet until the rain stopped and then it began to pick up. The prairie dogs were out in force this morning!! I am so glad I found running! It is so much better than hiding in video games like I used to do!!

It ended up being an OCR Holliday today. I ended up going to a COR (Colorado Obsticle Course Racers) Holliday event with my wife and we had a great time!! So we did a workout (you can see the board behind us) who's reps added up to 1776!! It was a bit rough!! There was even a mile run at the end so I did actually get a run in today!! I met some great people!! COR is just such an excepting group!! I even ran across some runners and worked out with a one of the participants in the new Spartan show!! That was pretty cool !! I really liked getting to spend some time with an ultra runner and getting an idea of how that experience is plus a bit of good advice. All in all what a great Holliday!! Now all I can think about is signing up for a 30 k with 2000 ft elevation gain... We will see just how crazy/stupid I am!! Happy 4th!! I hope everyone is able to have a great time today and hopefully get a run in!! Ps me and my wife were able to share the total reps...I'm not that studly yet..
When you have put over 450 miles on your shoes and wore your first set of zero drop running shoes down this bad.. are they called negative drops then?
