It's more fair to say, you've been in this pot your whole life. The water used to cool your body nicely. There's also a hamster wheel in here. The only way to feed yourself enough to survive, is to keep running the wheel and claim your daily ration reward.

When you're done running for the day, you don't have time or energy to do much else but rest and sleep, before you need to start running again. This is keeping you very busy and distracted.

So when the heat slowly approaches, it is concerning. You don't know how hot it's gonna get. But the only way of escaping it would be to stop running, give up your food source, and figure out a plan to exit the pot before you starve. You don't know what's out there. Will there be food? Will there be a better life? Or will it be worse?
