I don’t care what y’all think about my Prof Remus Lupin headcanons:
Luna LOVES him. He’s always baffled by the way this tiny 12-year-old follows him around with a million questions about creatures and does he believe in nargles?
Of course when she asks questions about if he believes in obscure creatures, his answer is always yes.
Ginny reminds him so much of Lily and he keeps getting annoyed with himself for shipping her and Harry.
He becomes an icon for all lgbtqa+ students.
Pavarti comes to him with her crush on Lavender and vice versa. (It’s very awkward like ‘no I have no idea if she likes you back.’)
A pair of equally awkward conversations with Dean and Seamus makes him regret coming out to them as bi.
Even an embarrassed and ashamed Blaise Zambini comes to him with a crush on Theo Nott.
Basically he becomes the support system for anyone struggling with sexuality issues and also crushes in general.
Ron gets a tip from Dean about where to go for romantic advice.
So Remus ends up with Ron asking him about what to do about his crush on Hermione.
Remus watched James and Sirius try to go out with enough girls/guys in his day to know what does and doesn’t work (and what worked on him in Sirius’s case) so his relationship advice is legit.
He knows Harry is bi, but you should never force someone to come out, so he doesn’t say anything.
Of course Harry is too oblivious to realize, even after Remus drops some fairly obvious hints that make Pavander, Deamus, and a few others laugh.
One day, Snape comes to him with a Slytherin having a panic attack.
Because Snape may care (at least a little bit) about his snakes but he has no idea how to help them with the dementors.
He hates Remus but he knows he can’t just let that kid suffer on their own.
Harry is not the only kid Remus teaches to do a Patronus.
Mostly he teaches the ones who have depression, anxiety, or abusive families.
He keeps his promise never to say anything when he trains Draco Malfoy.
Peeves confronts Remus one day and asks about the other Mauraders because nobody tells him anything.
When he hears the news about Sirius being a traitor and Peter and James being dead, the poltergeist almost cries.
Peeves actually covers for him a couple times at full moons.
Because Peeves respects his fellow mischief makers.
Hermione comes to him asking about animagi because she found a textbook in the library with notes in the margins.
It was the same book James, Sirius, and Peter used to become animagi and Remus almost cries.
He tells her that she can’t start the process until she turns 17, but she assures him it’s not for her.
It’s for Harry because she thinks it’d be a good way to hide him from Voldemort. She’s also curious about the handwriting that looks a bit like Harry’s, and the two other distinct writing styles.
He lies and tells her he has no idea who’s handwriting it is.
Hermione doesn’t believe him but she does trust him so she lets it go.
Basically everyone loves him even if they won’t admit it.
