im honestly not really into jynnic (bc im too busy shipping him with me reader) but i thought this was a hilarious concept
this was my second time commissioning potes and she was so sweet and patient with my neuroses and brought my idea to life so wonderfully! i loved working with her again! if you’re looking for someone to bring a character vision to life, i highly recommend.

Speaking of, I found myself falling back into my evergreen obsession of Ben Mendo because of Andor and his return as the glorious diva of the Empire.
Then I rewatched The Land of Steady Habits (he had so much terrible sex in it). And watched The Outsider (criminally underrated series). And revisited Starred Up (Shakespearean masterpiece fr). And Una (wink wink). And remembered that I enjoyed a lot of Jynnic fic back in the ol' Rogue One days but I've never written one?
So I wrote a postimperialist republic modern au Jynnic fic with sort-of a 'low-budget indie film' treatment in the sense of "I just want to write lines worthy of Mendo and Felicity. My imagination's good enough to hear them say these lines because I might be psychotic". Then it got wilder. Might even be getting kinkier. Oh well why tf not.
It's called We Built Everything But Bridges (Rated M and E, currently ongoing) and I'm quite proud of it. Can a depressed person write this??:
“What?” He finally asked after dreading the hypothetical answer to this question for far too long. “Why do you love acting rich so much? The dramatic white coats, the luxury car, the pain-in-the-arse personality.” She asked in a toneless voice. “You don’t even talk posh enough. It’s kind of middling for a roleplay.” What he felt first was a spark of anger. Her cutting words reminded him of Tarkin, that infuriating born-and-bred privileged bastard whose wealth came from his very old and genetically messed up bloodline that has existed since the Old Republic era. He spoke in the Most Proper Imperialist accent, and it did him well in certain social circles. Unlike him who only maintained the ordinary Republican standard accent most of the time, a minimum standard of professionality for white collar workers. The anger then faded into a familiar slight discomfort at being prodded with unexpectedly invasive questions, something that Jyn had always had a knack for during their rare conversations. It was Jyn Erso being herself, and it would be foolish and pointless of him to berate her for her bottomless curiosity and sharp instinct. “Modesty looks terrible on me.” Krennic answered with a non-answer, as he always did when they played this particular game. “I can never pull it off.”

The Rules:
Every twenty-four hours there will be another round. After every round, the ship in last place will be eliminated.
If there are multiple ships tying for last place, there will be a special elimination round. In these rounds, every ship in last place will be eliminated, even if all the ships have tied equally.
When there are only two ships remaining, they will face off against one another in a week-long poll to determine the victor.

The ship with the highest 'write-in' votes will be added to the next round. Unless the 'the best polarizing ship is ___' option is the least voted for, in which case it will be eliminated. Addendum to Rule 4: Only polarizing ships are allowed. Yes, I'm sure your OTP is awesome, but if there's no proof of it being polarizing then it unfortunately cannot be added to the poll.

The least voted for option in Round One was the 'the best polarizing ship is ___' option. However, because I love chaos, I'm going to replace it with the most 'written-in' polarizing ship instead of eliminating it altogether.

Round Two!
Krennic's ending in Rogue One is perfect 10/10 no notes- Death Star laser TO THE FACE!- but I ADORE AUs where he outlives the Death Star (his baby, his life's work, his purpose) and he has to start his life over completely from scratch. What does post-ambition, post-Death Star Krennic look like? It's such an interesting direction for his character to go in.
