This AU (Guest Conductor Samira/Former-Soloist-Now-Concertmaster Jack, largely Mozart in the Jungle-inspired) live in my head rent free this week so here's the song list so far:
An American in Paris, Gershwin (Samira conducting, Jack's completely head over heels by the time she got to the blues section)
Contretemps & Short Piece for Orchestra, Julia Perry (Samira conducting, pieces chosen by Heather who is a very dear friend, a famous opera singer (i think she's mezzo-soprano? cmiiw), and Robby's biggest fumble)
Darshan, Reena Esmail (Jack playing, score given by Samira which is totally how they flirt with each other) (here's the first movement, Bihag)
Sibelius' Violin Concerto (Robby conducting with soloist Baran Al-Hashimi in a tempestuous performance that gagged everyone because oh boy they really do not get along) (ik Sepideh's a great singer but I want Baran to be a violinist here due to her camaraderie w/ Jack lol sry)
Ligeti's Piano Concerto (with soloist John Shen and his unfettered whimsy, Samira conducts and Robby hates this piece lmao)
A completely fictional Untitled Nadaswaram Concerto composed by young genius composer & Juilliard graduate Victoria Javadi, with her best friend Samira Mohan conducting its premiere
Also, Jack plays a Vuillaume violin (that cost like a quarter-to-half million dollars) and Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1 is his roman empire (because of the nocturne (i find comfort in darkness)!! and the cadenza!! it's a depressing piece ngl but it's beautiful)
And to think this is all for the sake of having a scene where Samira and Jack have a heated make out session in suits... Mohabbot dead how? Real ones know they'd live forever.
