so a trope that i have come to greatly enjoy in TRoS-compliant gingerpilot fic is when at some point while spying, Hux suddenly unsticks his moral compass enough to start feeling guilty about the choices he's made and is struggling to be a better person. however, due to a Situation, in order to leak information or keep his cover he is forced to absolutely body a fellow First Order member who was just doing their job. and so now not only is Hux slowly having a mental breakdown about his war crimes, but he's also faced with having had to kill some other poor FO sod that was just as much a cog in Palpatine's machine as he was and is horrified that he just cannot escape the cycle of Killing People.

I need Hux to spill all First Order secrets, thinking that otherwise Poe won't want him anymore. I need him desperate and terrified of losing it all. I need him to become dependent and addicted to the point that he would tell or do anything just to feel the way that Poe makes him feel. I need him thinking that he has to somehow repay Poe because in Hux's world there's no possibility that Poe is just simply interested in him and doesn't have any ulterior motives. 

I need Poe to realize how easily he could take advantage of it. How he did take advantage of it without even realizing. I need him to realize all that while lying in the bed with Hux. Hux snuggled closely to his side, half asleep.
