Combing the freeFORM Board with Power Plate whole body vibration for mobility. Power Plate stimulates the sensory nerves, muscle spindles / GTO’s as well as the muscles, connective tissues, circulatory and lymphatic systems. The freeFORM Board tweaks and distributes the myofascial tension by changing the angles under tension. While this particular exercise is a groin / adductor stretch, it’s also a thoracic extension stretch, a lay / should extensor stretch, an oblique and lower back stretch. Once again, there are so many variations on this theme. We practiced another version of this with the board under one knee and hands on the floor. This allowed for eccentrically loaded stretching. In that version, you don’t have to stick with pure frontal plane hip abduction, you can load through different angles including circumduction through different ranges. You can program this exercise into a general mobility workout or use it a prep for loaded movements. It can make up part of a groin rehab program.
