(Context: Teacher brought in donuts when we weren't allowed to have them. This is a compilation of tryna hide them.)
*My teacher tried rushing the principal out the room.*
*Me, with 11 paper towels from the bathroom:* "Don't be suspicious, don't be suspicious..."
"Lets just say that we all brought a donut and put them in one box!"
"Or I could try hiding them behind my body"
*Insert speed donut eating*
- one of my teachers almost got fired for like having a party with us because someone's parent thought it would be a good idea to take the food for it to the office 🤠
Baby boomer says, “I struggled, therefore my children should struggle”
Millennial says, “I struggle, so that hopefully my children won’t struggle as I have”
Gen Z says, “Existence is struggle” and mix some Keats or Voltaire into a bop
Aizawa: Today, you're learning about 2020/2021
Iida: Sir, is it true you are, what they called, a Gen Z?
Aizawa: *Flashbacks to drop kicking a cop in the face*
Aizawa: Yes.
Bakugou: Tch
Aiawa: Listen here you greasy ipad baby-
i know people like to call the gen-z disney stars cringey,,,
but come on,
these kids
are using their influence
to create a difference
and inspire kids all around the world
to stand up for what they believe in
and they
should not be
reduced to “cringey kids”
because they, and the children they inspire,
are our future.

I think the only reason why I get a little upset or annoyed at younger gen z's (around the age of 12-15, I'm 18 for perspective) is because that was my "awkward" phase. They're skipping it and look/act like how "15 year Olds" are in movies, which I always idolised when I was younger.
I think that my problem is that they are getting to live the life I wanted (dyed hair, cool clothes, piercings, pretty etc -- I was quite 'ugly' up to when I turned 15ish) at the time where movies think that it's appropriate. And because of my overwhelming obsession with becoming the main character rather than a distant, supportive role (as I've viewed myself for a while) has made me envious that others were able to feel that way before me.
This feels like I'm complaining about something really dumb. I think I want them to "act their age" (in line with my own experiences) just because I've embarrassed myself with an "awkward phase", when that clearly wasn't necessary :/
Ooh, chil'
This has to be said because the air is charged with deep animosity.
Growing up online is ruining gen Z, on both sides of the spectrum. Both right and the left are being radicalized in an extreme fashion and neither is beneficial. Unfortunately extremism on the left is far more devastating and here is why: when the right is radicalized they don't really give a damn about whether you're ankle, knee or balls deep in the ideology, you're one of them and they'll use you for numbers. As long as you're not anything near center or left, you're good in their book.
Radicalized left doesn't have that mindset and will fight their own, and that's where the downfall of the left has always been. Our ideas and feelings are complex and if you don't fit into the specific bracket of the left, you're not really left. (Y'all air hate towards your own in public, which is a no-no).
I urge young political activists to not use YouTube in place of an actual academic course on philosophy, philosophy of politics and law. As much as I love Abby Thorn of philosophytube and Natalie Wynn of contrapoints, there's more entertainment value in them rather than academic. Those are video op-eds, not a course that would teach you critical thinking. It's a hard to swallow fact, but there's literally no difference between you and the far-right: you gobble down finely packaged, hand-picked ideology in your own cozy little bubble. There's nothing revolutionary about your cause. Y'all are all snowflakes if you jump to conclusions, disregard nuance and refuse to ask pertinent questions.
As Swedes would say "lagom", or as the ancient Greeks would advise "everything in moderation".
Much love from a former angry philosophy student, now an old millennial.
