If I didn’t remember actually reading this in an actual Calvin and Hobbes book as a child I’d think it was ironically photoshopped like those comics where Mickey Mouse and Goofy talk about how reality is an illusion but this comic strip was actually just……. already………… like that……………

Hey does anyone remember that little song about the mail from like… the early 90s or maybe the late 80s it went something like 🎶 “the mail must go through, the mail must go through, no matter if it’s rain or shine…” 🎶 idk if it was on Sesame Street or one of those “turn the page when you hear the chime” record books or what but that song’s been stuck in my head for a while lately

The number of older people who do not believe, EARNESTLY refuse to contemplate the concept that lots of people my age or younger don’t want kids ✨ever✨ is astronomical. I don’t understand the obsession.

So which of the 4 turnings was this

Being 18-25 is like playing a video game where you’ve skipped the tutorial and you’re just sort of running about with no idea how anything works

Being 25-30 is like later on in the game when you’ve figured out how things work, but have made poor leveling decisions along the way and are now horribly underpowered for what you’re supposed to be doing.

Being 30-35 is coming to the conclusion that if wildly swinging a sword at random while screaming has gotten you this far, may as well keep at it. 

Being 35–40 is looking back at 18–34 and realising the tute-skipping, bad-uplevelling, sword-swinging shit-carousel you built *ought* to have killed you, but it didn’t, and also your back hurts.
