A hotblooded trainer on both the competitive circuit, as well as Pokéthlon events, Fira was always eager to impress her friends and family, as well as show up her little brother. She spent a few years climbing the ranks in the Battle Tower of Hoenn, but immediately came home upon seeing her little brother somehow becoming the champion of the Kanto Region. How did the little squirt manage that so quickly?
Growing up, Fira adored her starter Pokémon Cyndaquil, always flaunting her to her little brother before he got his Charmander. Becoming a mainstay of her team as a Typhlosion, it was soon joined by her Litten, a Pokémon with a massive ego that's reckons it can take a whole horde of Pokémon at once. which is probably true when it enters its Gigantamax Form. Both Pokémon serve as powerhouses for Fira's specialist team, though despite the sibling rivalry of Fira and her little brother, the two Fire-types get on really well with Houtaru's Charizard.
As for the rest of her Specialist team, her Scovillain is more of a menace, often spraying nearby trainers Pokémon with its spicy spray, while her Cylizard joins the fire-type focus with its terastallization, and is also a mainstay of her side hustle as a Pokéthlon star. Her orange-flamed Chandelure is a eery phantom, unleashing phantasmal flames to tear through the competition, and her Turtonator will unleash explosive force on any Pokémon that comes too close.
As for her freeform team, her Empoleon was always prideful, even as a Piplup, always puffing up his chest to imprint its importance, and has a one-sided rivalry with Houtaru's Sceptile. Similarly, her Drapion has a rivalry with Houtaru's Lokix, though in this case, Houtaru's Lokix see's Drapion as the villain to its heroic masked rider. And then falls to Fira's Grimtaceous to end the conflict between the two sibling's teams... and often the two siblings themselves. Fira's Haxorus is an aggressive striker, slashing opponents with its axe-like tusks, while her elegant Togekiss bombards opponents with Aura Spheres and Moonblasts. And her Aerodactyl is a violent Pokémon, only listening to Fira herself. Must've been a hell of a job, since she somehow developed a bond strong enough with it to allow it to Mega Evolve.
So with her little brother being Kanto's champion, of course she made a beeline to Akkadios with her boyfriend Silas as soon as she heard Houtaru would be entering the Pokémon World Tournament to knock him down a peg or two. After all, what are siblings for? And she's certain she's winning that particular match-up if it comes up.
managed to self-regulate an oncoming panic attack last night with deep breathing but gave into the compulsions today to check and re-check if my hair straightener ( what’s the actual name of that stupid thing guys idk ) was plugged in or not, even took a picture of the very much unplugged thing and still had to unlock the door to go back in and check again and I’m so disappointed in myself :(
because I made a lot of progress back after a huge ocd meltdown about a month ago that left me having compulsions to tap or touch things ( light switches, chargers, corners, ect ) that I hadn’t had for almost a full year, but managed to speed-run my progress since I was on vacation last week and knew that it would be miserable if I had all my compulsions to deal with. Only had two major compulsion flare-ups during vacation for about 20 minutes each.
But now it’s like since vacation is over, I have time to give in to the compulsions and they get stronger. It’s like dr*gs, tbh. You tell yourself you’ll only do it once, or just one more time, and then you’re hooked again and every time you give into the compulsion, it only makes the next one more difficult to resist.
And rationally, I know that the compulsion will pass, but in the moment, it feels like I can’t breathe, like when you’re underwater and your lungs tell you, hey, we need oxygen now. But the only way to get that air is to give in to the compulsion, even though I don’t NEED to give in.
I take 25 milligrams of Zoloft, and that’s helped immensely compared to where I was at in 2023 and early 2024. But I feel like maybe it’s become less effective since the ocd breakdown a month ago, when I had a panic attack at 2 am because I forgot to take my Zoloft. Now taking my nightly meds is a source of anxiety, and every day I have to message my partner that I took them at 5 pm or I’ll second-guess myself later, even if I clearly remember taking the meds.
And like it DOES get better. I KNOW that it does. Because now I can do things without fear. I can do laundry now, and go into the laundry room without immediately needing to shower or change clothes. I don’t have to get in and out of the shower over and over until I feel clean and there’s water all over the floor. I don’t have to wash my hands until they crack open and bleed in the winter. I can kiss my dog on the top of her fluffy lil head again. I can sit in a seat that someone else sat in earlier. I can eat food without being scared that any imperfection in the food will actually give me a terrible degenerative illness.
But when you actively feel yourself lose progress, it’s hard to remember that the progress can be made back again :(
Overnight, the usual paleness had given way to a weird heat plaguing his hand. Elliot felt it flare even before opening his eyes, what a great start his day decided to have.
He sighed, far too loud to longer suffer in silence, making Chris slip to his bedside in the blink of an eye. His first hunch turned out to be correct. Hand in hand, he inspected the limp, torrid thing closer.
"Huh, I thought you were alright yesterday. Did you practice too much?"
Practice, as if this unorganized jingling could even be called that. Elliot pulled his fingers back to himself, still not comfortable with Chris handling it like he demanded to do: "Today is not yesterday."
"Did you do anything different?"
"No."
"Maybe bumped into something?" he wondered and lowered the shutters - dim lighting to sooth the senses.
"No," Chris' sweet thing huffed, tried to clench his fist and got instantly hit with the electric burn running throughout his arm he was too familiar with by now. Familiar didn't mean it felt any less awful. "That's just how it is sometimes."
Chris would love to stay; to give him tea and pills and a massage and perhaps something more to rise his mood...
"I have to go now," he frowned, "but I could try to talk to my boss about smaller jobs. Can't promise you much, though, y'know how he is." A cancer sprawling out into the only beautiful thing Chris had in his life, that's what Dutch was.
"I'll survive," Elliot scoffed flatly. Please, like I can't manage without your help. A lie he liked to tell himself again and again. At the end of the day, he preferred it over reality.
Close to the threshold, Chris turned around again and shot Elliot a worried look.
"What?" He shuffled over to lie on his right side, staring back at the cause of all of his misery.
"Sorry."
Rolling his eyes, Elliot pulled the covers back over his head.

Bit of a flare-up the last couple days :/ Mostly manageable so far, but it's frustrating. My neck is attempting to heal from hives (yay cat allergies) so that doesn't help although it hasn't truly set off the crazy eczema cascade that it usually does. I still have skin on my inner elbows so yay!
