#deaf actor

So I’ve been watching the newest season of Foundation and can I just say how cool it is to have a major character (First Speaker Preem Palver) who is deaf (played by a deaf actor!) and communicates with other characters exclusively in subbed sign language?!? Getting to see sign language in action like that is so cool and I wish more things did that and had the guts to do it in a way that requires more work for the hearing people watching it!!! Also I really want to learn sign language but I’m not sure if my hands would be good at it… I should see if I can learn though, I know some words. Either way the totally different syntax of it is SO COOL and it’s awesome seeing it in action, like when he signs “you were never going to do this alone” as far as I can tell the actual signs made are something about going alone, a “nuh-uh-uh” somewhat sassy gesture, and then going with a group. IT IS JUST SO COOL AND MORE SHOWS SHOULD DO THIS (and should do it with deaf actors too, like that’s also a very important factor) (and the other actors having to learn sign for the scenes is awesome, I respect it a lot)

I fucking love Millicent Simmonds. She's so amazing. She's been in so many Deaf films and she's still so young. She's honestly my idol as a Deaf wannabe-actor. Please check her out if you're looking for a Deaf actor.
