Looking for period hairdos (and people who did them) online, a lot of what I can find in terms of instructions either looks very 1810-onwards, so somewhat too late to match my gown, or is 'Bridgerton-themed' (which, to clarify, is exactly what I don't want my hair to look like, ideally).

I'm kinda thinking of making it, but in an audio format, maybe framing it in the way of a Stage Manager who records production meetings, mixed in with phone calls and things like that.

It'd mostly focus on tech crew, but there will obviously be a director, a few actors, etc. And the director has sort of Michael Scott vibes in the way of big ideas and no realistic way to achieve them, And the actors of varying degrees of coolness ranging from 'neat actor who helps out sometimes and generally gets along with tech' to Actor™️ (trademark emoji).

In terms of Tech characters I for sure want a design team (Scenic, Costume, Lighting, and Sound), a Props Master bc of course, a Tech Director, and maybe some scenic carpenters, stitches, and electricians. And a Stage Manager. END IMAGE ID]

Hey Techblr. Wanted to do my annual share of an excellent networking and job opportunity in the DC area.

What is a tech cattle call? Much like how actors may have an opportunity to do an audition in front of several companies at once (lookin’ at you DC Non-EQs), this is an opportunity to sell your technical skills to as many as 60 different companies in the DC/Baltimore Metro area. 

The 2019 DC Theatre Technician Cattle Call will be held on Sunday, April 14 and Monday, April 15 at Sidney Harman Hall from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Sunday will be devoted to Carpenters, Electricians, Audio & Video Engineers, Props Artisans and Painters. Monday will be devoted to Costume Technicians, Makeup Artists, Stage Managers and those who fall into other categories but are on run crew for shows.

Similar to an acting cattle call, each candidate will be given 8 minutes in front of the group of representatives from theaters and production companies around the DC Metro area.

I've been thinking a lot about ways to contribute to displaying a high quality of work for young designers to look to as inspiration, be it for creating paperwork, presenting a portfolio, or otherwise displaying their work.

If you feel inclined to upload your work, please know that this will be in a public dropbox folder (as listed below), so censor information (contact info/addresses) as you see fit.

The intent of this project is to create a crowdsourced resource for students, professionals, or interested parties to gain an insight into how we work; this will not be used commercially.

Feel free to upload files however you'd like. I'll go through and rename/reorganize files into a structure that is easy to navigate for all.

The name’s Jasper. I recently finished Sheridan College’s Technical Production program, and will be officially graduating in just over a month. I’m specialized in lighting and audio (three years specialized), and also have two years of specialization in wardrobe construction.

I’ve worked on major Sheridan productions such as Trap Door (in which I was the lighting programmer and board operator), and am looking forward to growing my portfolio and experiencing the industry.
