When it’s chair spike day for Come From Away
It's the last day of tech, the show is far from ready, your patience is in the negative...and the production's problem child has yet another request.
But, you know, in Nice Mode.
really wish i stuck with kickboxing sometimes instead of being indoctrinated by theater kids my freshman year

My husband asked me for office supplies, and it wasn't the straightforward exchange he was hoping for.
Him: Do you have any of those post-it sticky tabs?
Me, rips open stash: Do you want yellow or assorted?
Him: I don't...I don't need colors....
Me: OR do you want transparent ones?
Him:....
Me: So you can still see the text underneath?
What is one small, seemingly insignificant thing you have that makes your job as a stage manager easier?
Mine is transparent Post-It Notes.
I volunteered to run Sound and Projections for a charity performance(I know, I know--but its a venue I've wanted to work in for a while[like Jr high] and I just finished SMing a show earlier in the month and was like-- I have time(I absolutely didnt), I can make that work)
This first rehearsal is just a spacing and spiking rehearsal, so Im kinda just sitting in the booth (in the middle of the house)(more of a hallway really)(im gonna have to bring fuckin knitting or something so I dont hang out on my phone during down time) and, I get it, actors(lots of kids) get tired when they're not on stage. However the voices on stage were Not Carrying the way they should have and like the chattering was getting louder and louder. So the cherographer was like "quiet in the house" and then back to business. But like, the actors Did Not listen.
And let me tell you:
Hearing actors starting to shush their friends after I (a person they have never seen) (who is also wearing a surgical mask) (and scrub pants w/ my work zoots [boots] [military surplus]) yelled(gently with my upset stage manager voice(not my mad voice, just the frustrated one)) to the people in the house, "Guys, he said Quiet in the House" is like Crack.
