An Italian calzone that is baked to perfection and filled with prosciutto, ricotta, and cheese. Every bite has the right amount of flavors and textures.
Ingredients: 1 pizza dough store-bought or homemade. 1/2 cup ricotta cheese. 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 4 slices prosciutto. 1/4 cup marinara sauce. 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder. Salt and pepper to taste. Olive oil for brushing. Flour for dusting.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 475F 245C. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to form a large circle, about 12 inches in diameter. Spread the ricotta cheese evenly over one half of the dough, leaving a border around the edges. Layer the prosciutto slices on top of the ricotta cheese. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheeses over the prosciutto. Drizzle the marinara sauce over the cheese and sprinkle with dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges to seal. Brush the top of the calzone with olive oil and make a few small slits on the surface to allow steam to escape. Transfer the calzone to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a pizza stone. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the calzone is golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your delicious Calzone di Prosciutto e Ricotta!
