“So, I saw a video about ADHD friendly hacks for when you stink at putting down your phone at bedtime.”
“And the one about making a bed to tuck your phone into as like a ritual sounds silly and stupid enough to work.”
“It works because it feels fun and comforting and you’re CHOOSING to tuck your phone away instead of feeling forced to lock it up. The autonomy here is key.”
“Anyway. I built myself a phone bed. I’ll keep you posted on whether it works long term!”
ADHD ORGANIZATION HACK:
if your desktop looks like shit cause you just have a bunch of fuckass random files on there, go into canva or ibispaint x and make a “corkboard” of images/stickers that you will want to have visible on your desktop. this incentivizes you to organize your loose files ASAP. this is mine, i got the idea from a user on the river app!
also I figured I'd share an adhd hack that helps me:
it's called: song timer.
Timers don't work for me because I have no idea how much time it's been if I'm not staring at it, so instead I use a song that I know is a certain amount of time long - in my case I usually use viva la vida because it's 4 minutes and 2 seconds long (or sometimes the Owl City cover of 'waving through a window' bc it's about the same length) and I know the whole thing! Helps when you're doing stuff you get easily distracted by (in my case, taking a shower).
You can also do this with a playlist for longer tasks - just make sure you know every song and the order of the playlist pretty well AND that you always play the playlist front to back (no shuffle!).
This is because 1 minute means nothing to me however the the start of the 'woa-aaoh's' to the end of viva la vida DOES mean something.
“I’m the first one of us to complete my Dopamenu. I made sure I have space to add other things as I think of them.”
“I love these stickers too. The Polish Alvinnn sticker books are so cool. And I drew all the designs around the edges. Took 2 hours.”
“Looking at this makes me smile. It’s so colorful and sweet and beautiful. I can’t wait to see what everyone else comes up with for their menus!”

One cannot underestimate the healing properties of rearranging your furniture
weird adhd hack:
don't feel like doing the dishes? get a spray bottle and shoot water at them to power wash the gross off before they go in the dishwasher!!
is it effective? absolutely not
is it more fun and therefore a more interesting task? yup!
