just figured out that the secret to me actually getting shit done is having separate outfits for activities. I will almost ALWAYS get stuff done if I’m in what I consider a ‘work outfit’; I almost always get exercise when I’m in an ‘exercise outfit’, if I’m in a ‘going out’ outfit and the person cancels on me im going to go out Anyway, and so on. This is bullshit- you’re telling me that in order to get anything done I have to be in the CORRESPONDING OUTFIT?!?! LIKE A FUCKING CARTOON CHARACTER?!?!

i like make promises to myself and then internally refer to myself in yhe third person as if theyre someone im letting down if i do y do the task
“no we cant watch tv, we promised harley wed clean the laundry off their bed abd make it today”
“Harley needs to take a shower so hurrynup and grab a towel”
“harley was really hoping to be able to do art this weekend so we need to clean up their crafting area”
“harley needs to sleep because they have ti wake up early, please turn off your phone”
by thinking of myself as a seperate person im letting down if i dont do tasks i manage to guilt trip myself into doing the things

saw an ADHD hack where they chained themself to the task so they couldn’t get distracted and run away so i chained myself to the dishes because it had been over an hour and i’d somehow managed to only wash one dish

guys! cleaning a room in small chunks works! I managed to clean up my room in 4 days by picking up a few things every-ish day.
What helped, was if i lost something, and knew it was in my room, i would "clean till you find it". That helped to get me to, instead of moving everything around, i would clean up instead. Plus, then i have a reason to be cleaning, instead of it being "just a good idea".
i put my desk and bed together. why? because if im going to use art supplies in bed, and never use my desk, might as well make it easier to put everything away so it isn't left on my bed.
