That phrase means absolutely nothing. Not a goddamn thing. "History will judge them." Just like thoughts & prayers, it doesn't do anything to help.
One thing I find fascinating about anti separatism arguments is it constantly frames it as women retreating from society somehow. Like women associating with each other somehow plucks us away from the rest of the world. Men are the number one separatists and I doubt anti separatists would ever consider this withdrawing from the rest of world.
Men practice separatism when they preferentially hire their buddies to the higher-paying jobs at their companies. They practice it when they hand down valuable keepsakes or estates to their favorite male relatives. They practice it when they socialize amongst themselves while not helping the facilitators of the social events, which are usually women.
They manage to practice separatism while keeping us as part of their world as little as needed. We can do the same.
“I treat myself like I would my daughter. I brush her hair, wash her laundry, tuck her in goodnight. Most importantly, I feed her. I do not punish her. I do not berate her, leave tears staining her face. I do not leave her alone. I know she deserves more. I know I deserve more.”
— Michelle K., I Know I Deserve More. (via sadlittlewords)
"We're just making up for the girlhood we never got to have!!"
My friend who left her Amish order at age 19, who was the eldest daughter to a family of nine, who never had a birthday party, whose days of cooking and cleaning and farm labor and taking care of her younger siblings started at 4:30 am, has never felt the urge to do ageplay
My coworker, who raised her violent younger brother and fended for herself in a filthy double-wide trailer where her parents were either gone or raging drunk at home, who couldn't even dare to invite a friend over because of how horrifying her home life was, has never felt the urge to have a slumber party pillow fight
My neighbor's mother, who grew up as a house girl in southern India, who was born into a life of drugery and hiddenness and abuse, who wasn't allowed to even touch the toilet or dining utensils of the house she was forced to work in for 10 hours a day as a child, has never felt the urge to drink out of a Disney princess sippy cup
MTFs do not want to experience girlhood. Girlhood as we lived it would have made these pampered, whiny, milksop men kill themselves. They want to live in the sexualized schoolgirl anime that was contrived entirely in the minds of men. None of us got to experience that girlhood, and yet none of us are desperately trying to recreate it as adults now.
"Parents usually try to protect girls more and dress them in pretty dresses" — yes, because for centuries, women's lives depended on whether the rich rapist would like them and buy them or not. Woman were literally raised for sale like cattle.
Just remember that "princesses," contrary to the stereotypes about their pampering, were mere bargaining chips. They were artificially pushed out of power, driven back to tea parties and dress fittings, because their primary function was to be sold and then regularly subjected to sexual and reproductive violence.
Your idea of womanhood or girlhood is literally built on the propaganda of misogynists (who don't want to lose the opportunity to rape women so they block women's right movement) and the mockery of femicide. Just think about that twice.

Let me describe to you what kind of world gender abolitionists actually dream about:
When a child would be born it’s biological sex, being an actual physical reality, would be noticed but not a single assumption regarding the child’s personality would be made based on it.
Growing up, children would be free to chose what toys and clothes they prefer. If they want to play with toy trucks or dolls, it would be fine either way. If they want to dress comfortably or in frilly colorful dresses, it would be fine.
Certain personality traits would not be encouraged in members of one sex and discouraged in the other. Females would be free to be strong, brave and assertive and males would not be shamed for being shy and soft spoken.
No female child would be called a tomboy and no male child would be called a sissy. No kid would ever be bullied for what we in our gendered world call “gender expression”.
When children would reach puberty they would still be free to dress how they want. Females would not be pressured to wear clothes that reveal their bodies and males would not be shamed if they chose to. Everybody would have a free choice of accessories, which would not be categorized as “men’s” or “women’s” but people could should whichever they liked. Or chose to not wear accessories at all if that’s what they are more comfortable with.
Females would not be pressured to keep their bodies slim, soft and hairless. Males would not be pressured to be athletic and muscular. Expectations of femininity and masculinity upon the body would not exist and affect negatively people’s relationship with their own body.
Everyone could choose a career without fearing stigmatization within that particular field because of their biological sex. The most important thing would be competence and not what someone has between their legs.
Domestic work would not be considered “women’s work” and would be shared equally between the sexes.
Biological sex would only be thought about when relevant. And everyone would be free to be themselves without ever having to worry about gender expectations. Nobody would feel the need to repress certain parts of their personality and exaggerate others in order to fit into some gender role that is being forced on them.
Gender abolitionism is not about restricting people’s choices but about giving them greater freedom.

Yes that’s it!
The notes on this post are pretty interesting, but here’s my input as a trans girl:
Some of this sounds great. Don’t force certain personality or behavior on kids. Don’t pressure people to maintain a specific physique.
Some of it sounds like absolute hell. I cope with my gender dysphoria by doing things that are generally considered feminine. I want to dress a certain way because that style of dress is feminine. I use GENDER EXPRESSION to EXPRESS my GENDER, because if I don’t - or in this supposedly perfect world - I CAN’T, then my dysphoria goes off the wall with no gender euphoria to offset it.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with having gender tied to certain elements of self-expression. The problem is not that male and female things exist - it’s that current social norms enforce those concepts too strictly. Men can enjoy feminine things; that certainly does not mean the PERSON is feminine, but the THING he enjoys can still be considered as such.
Gender “norms” allow people to identify ourselves and each other. My entire life revolves around this. My happiness revolves around identifying myself as woman, and part of that includes having others also identify me as a woman. In a world where gender and gender norms do not exist, my identity and sense of self also cease to exist.
Honestly, living in a world like that sounds even worse.
What you’re effectively saying is that you want your life and purpose to be dictated not by your own interests as a free person, but by some feminine ideal. An ideal which cannot exist independently of oppressive sex-based stereotypes and a hetero-patriarchal power structure. That’s insane. I know you’re a sissification/forced-feminization enthusiast, based on the content of your side blog. It’s obvious that your views on this matter and your perception of reality have been perverted by that fetish, so I’m going to suggest that you seek help for porn addiction.
Some people… use misogyny… to cope???
Just admit you hate women and go.
This is why we say certain trans activists perspectives and goals are anti feminist and incompatible with female liberation.
We are not stopping you from being who you want to be; you are stopping us from dismantling our sex-based oppression.
If the goal of trans and non binary people is to maintain gender and therefore female oppression and male supremacy, just so that their identities are validated, then they are choosing to stand directly in the way of feminist goals and female liberation from sex based oppression.
If MY chains must remain in place so that your self expression can be “validated,” then YOU are standing in the way of my liberation.
I will NOT sacrifice my safety and freedom for your validation.
Despite the nauseating response to this post by mra’s and transwomen, I know at least 3 women that were peaked by the astoundingly, thoughtlessly selfish, self serving, unempathetic response of someone born male at birth, who enjoyed all of the privileges therein, telling women, girls and transmen that it didn’t really matter that all of us suffer under sex based oppression from birth, because what really matters to him, is that the world sees him as a submissive, decorative object. It’s rare for them to actually come out and say it, but this post was responsible for at least 3 women peaking that I’m aware of personally. Listen to transwomen, and they will tell you exactly how sexist they really are.
Since this post has crossed my dash again, I would like to take the time to reiterate and clarify exactly what my response to the initial post means.
Gender, the idea that there are things that are masculine and things that are feminine, is just another way of saying sex stereotypes. Sex stereotypes exist to reinforce male supremacy and female subordination.
There is literally no reason other than reinforcing oppression to associate stereotypes with either sex. The concepts of masculinity and femininity were only invented to serve the purpose of reinforcing male supremacy and reinforcing female subordination. These stereotypes are harmful to those who fit decently within them and even more to those who don’t (which includes trans people, among others).
If there is a group of trans activists that is claiming that dismantling these sex stereotypes is harmful to them because then they won’t be able to use the markers of sex stereotypes to demonstrate their gender identity, then they are in fact reinforcing those stereotypes and therefore reinforcing male supremacy and female subordination.
This is anti feminist and actively works against female liberation and the liberation of all people from oppressive sex stereotypes.
Supporting sex stereotypes is supporting male supremacy and female oppression.
This thread perfectly sums up how trans theories of gender EXPLICITLY DEPEND ON sex stereotypes and women’s oppression.
Everyone enjoying freedom and humanity would destroy sex stereotypes and therefore the entire structure of trans identities.
Trans theories of sex and gender are inherently patriarchy supporting and anti feminist. Which is why women fighting to be seen as human rather than as a set ideas or a role is considered offensive to them.
this is so fascinating to me. he admits his life revolves around gender stereotypes and that his happiness depends on other people playing along.
how is that any way to live?
Susana Trimarco disguised herself as madam and walked into brothels across northern Argentina, searching for her missing daughter among women trapped in sexual slavery and in the process, she sparked a movement that would free over 3,000 sex trafficking victims. It began in April 2002, when her 23-year-old daughter, María de los Ángeles Verón, left for a doctor's appointment in their city of San Miguel de Tucumán and never returned home. Frustrated by a police investigation she believed was deliberately sabotaged by corruption, Trimarco obtained the names of known pimps and sex traffickers from police files and launched her own search. She posed as a buyer interested in purchasing the captive women and girls - some as young as 14, who could be traded for about $800. One rape victim told her she had seen María drugged, with swollen eyes, in a trafficker's home that doubled as a holding place for newly abducted women. But by the time Trimarco could follow the lead, her daughter had been moved. Though María was never found, Trimarco's relentless pursuit transformed her into one of Argentina's most powerful human rights activists and forced sex trafficking onto national agenda. "The desperation of a mother blinds you," she says. "It makes you fearless." Through this dangerous work, Trimarco discovered the full scope of sex trafficking and corruption within the police and judiciary that kept women trapped in forced prostitution. "The police would hand [the trafficked women] back to the criminals," she recalls. "They used to say: 'Don't leave me. Take me with you.'" Trimarco ended up becoming the personal guardian to 129 survivors of sex trafficking, sheltering them in her home and helping them reunite with their families. Trimarco's relentless advocacy forced change at highest levels. Her work helped lead to first law, passed in 2008, making human trafficking a federal crime; the subsequent reforms have led to thousands of people being rescued from sex traffickers. These successes, however, have come with high personal cost to Trimarco: she has suffered many reprisals over the years including countless death threats, having her house set on fire, and several attempts to run her over in street. As more trafficking survivors and families of trafficking victims reached out to her for help, Trimarco says, "It came to a point where I just did not have capacity to help them all. That is when I decided to open a foundation." In 2007, she founded Fundación María de los Ángeles, a non-governmental organization focused on helping people escape from trafficking and lobbying for legislation to prevent it. Her efforts focused on her daughter's disappearance eventually resulted in trials for 13 people, including several police officers, in 2012; all 13 were acquitted, a ruling that prompted outrage by many and led to impeachment proceedings against three judges. In December 2013, Tucumán Supreme Court reversed acquittals and convicted ten of defendants, who received sentences ranging from 10 to 22 years in April 2014. But despite it all, Trimarco still hasn't found out what she wants to know most: what happened to her daughter. Some witnesses say she was murdered - although her body has never been found and others say she was taken overseas. Twenty-three years later, Trimarco's work continues in her daughter's name and for all survivors. Her foundation remains at the forefront of the country's fight against human trafficking, recently helping to dismantle trafficking rings in 2024 and 2025. In recent years, the foundation has expanded its role as a legal plaintiff in trafficking cases, ensuring survivors have representation throughout the judicial process. Now in her seventies, Trimarco remains internationally recognized for her work, though her search for answers about María's fate has never ceased. "Every woman I help somehow helps María," she reflects. "They represent hope in this new life of mine."

I’m going to say something that might sound crazy. Suicide and suicide attempts are sort of a societal alarm bell that says “something is very wrong with the environment this individual was in.” A living being choosing to take themselves out of existence is the most extreme act of distress there is. The state stepping in to silence this alarm bell by funneling suicidal people into a state sanctioned euthanasia program, normalizing this act through a socially accepted bureaucratic system, is not a good thing. It goes hand in hand with the state’s interest in maintaining the status quo at the expense of the population and the psychiatric industry’s interest in individualizing societal problems to extract profit and aid the existing system. It’s saying “there are no complaints here, just people with sick brains, carry on.”
Suicide is rarely about a desire to die, it is about a desire to escape an impossible situation, whether that is poverty, abuse, body dysmorphia, loneliness, whatever it may be. There is always a way out of these situations but they often require things that are very expensive and difficult, such as providing free housing for people (ie to allow them to escape abuse), providing good quality psychiatric care, and building places that engender connection rather than loneliness. So capitalist governments realize it is cheaper to kill people who want to die than to unpack what it is that they need and give it to them.
I agree.
how it feels to become too feminist for things you were previously fine with
She's right and she should say it
There actually are a lot of genuinely submissive men, but they're submissive to OTHER MEN. It's rare for men to submit to women, but they constantly submit to their male authority figures like bosses, politicians, etc.
and you'll soon find that these "submissive" men are actually just as in control as the "dominant" man. just tell your "submissive" boyfriend you no longer want to fulfill his submissive fantasies.
in the end, whose fantasies are you fulfilling? still his. he is still in control, he is still telling YOU what to do, it's just that he's controlling from what appears to be a submissive position.

George Tiller was murdered 13 years ago today (May 31 2022)
People noting this anniversary reminding me again that it is such an insane failure of the pro-choice movement that we do not as a nation think of George Tiller as a civil rights hero and additionally a martyr at the level of MLK Jr. or a Kennedy. So, you know, do your part, etc.

As an autistic woman, I'm seriously tired of holding back my opinions on autistic men lest people interpret my complaints as me being ableist. Why is it that we're supposed to support and defend autistic men, but no one cares to do the same for autistic women? Why is it so taboo to point out how there's a pattern to the violence perpetrated by these men? Why is it that when they hurt us, no one cares?
School shootings. Incel culture. Autogynephilia. Paedophilia. Invading women's spaces. Making perverted art of children's cartoon characters. Incest fantasies. Why do I keep seeing highly functioning autistic men involved with these things? Why can't we discuss these issues?
Maybe it's because...no, I shan't say it...
because they're male? That's probably it.
Whatever. I'll continue to call high functioning males what they are, a menace.
But I also keep thinking about the women who have low functioning autistic sons and how they're treated. Autism doesn't go away once you leave childhood, those little boys will grow into adult men. I wonder how often injuries happen while these mothers are looking after their sons. How lonely and isolating it must be. I keep thinking about the single mothers, the older mothers, the mothers living pay check to pay check. The violence and the fear and, yes, the love, and the worry they must feel. I think about the siblings as well. And the nurses. How sexual harassment and physical violence happen, but all we hear about these instances are whispers.
Autistic men are the worst because they’re simply not parented.
We all know little boys are parented less than girls, but with autistic boys it’s even worse because they refuse to even give them an OUNCE of discipline bc “oh poor baby he’s just autistic”.
Autism doesn’t give you the right to be a fucking creep, and autistic women don’t have this problem.
YES, ALL MEN. MALE GENOCIDE NOW!!
saying shit like "no hope for women" while living in the first few generations some of us are like legally regarded as people is actually insane. after 20k years

Happy pride month
My biggest takeaway from Invisible Women is you cannot read it and maintain the delusion that women are oppressed on the basis of gender rather than sex.
Medication, crash test dummies, office temperature - these things affect you on the basis of your sex, and claiming a different gender doesn't change any of it, nor does it challenge the systems and structures that are built to put women at a disadvantage. If every woman on earth woke up tomorrow and realized they were non-binary or trans men, they would still be at a significant disadvantage compared to men.
We have to fight female oppression on the basis of sex, or all we'll do is change the label for which half of the population is default and which is afterthought without any actual change.
