Standing directly in the doorway to achieve peak mental health.
the human body is an engineering marvel. I sneeze in bright light. if I dont get enough sunlight on my skin I get tired and sad and have to drink a lot of milk to fix it. standing too much hurts, but sitting too much also hurts. if I get a virus, my body will increase its temperature in an attempt to cook it, which also cooks my brain cells. toenails exist. I have to turn the radio down to see better when I drive. there are 17 genes dictating what my hair texture is, but it completely changes when the air is too humid. yawning is contagious. there are more species of bacteria living in my body than there are species of birds in the entire world. every few months I grievously injure my neck by "sleeping on it weird." it took seven million years of human evolution to form me, and now I'm afraid of phone calls.
Happy Pride Month!

Murderbot is probably the most embarrassing hyperfixation to have because oh really? You're hyperfixated on the 'hyperfixates on media to avoid the real world stress and anxiety' media? Is it. Is it to avoid your real world stress and anxiety, perhaps??
I hate when people ask me how long it took me to crochet something Iâve made. Frankly, thatâs none of my business. I put the yarn on the hook and worked on it whenever the spirit happened to take me to and then one day it was done. How long that process took is between the yarn and god; I want no part of it.
I only specify my things in weeks months and years. Like "I've been working on this one for 2 years" if they think I knitted a sweater with clouds on it non stop for 2 years they've at least realised that making things takes time
fibercrafts are SO maddening cuz wdym I have to go to work tomorrow, I'm like a third of a way through making a whole ass fucking cape, don't you think I should be allowed to focus on what matters (my fucking cape)
I feel like every fiber artist has a craft that to them is unexplainable witchcraft
For example. Mine is card weaving. How do they manage all those cards? How do the cool designs just appear? Also crochet. How do you make some loops of yarn and then it becomes a piece of fabric
However, I spin, and my friends who crochet are always like âhowwww????â. But to me, spinning makes perfect sense, and the crocheters and the witches
I just feel like all crafters have some other craft that to them in unexplainable despite doing a craft that is someone elseâs unexplainable craft
chuck isn't god. chuck is the great american christian tulpa

The only downside to talking to small children like theyâre normal people and treating them like normal people (as per my mom) is that as they develop into bigger children they are viscerally aware of every single moment in which they are pandered to like stupid little accessories (as per my dad, my teacher, the special ed aide, every adult in my middle school) and you end up getting a lot of phone calls from people reporting your kid for (checks notes) âundermining authorityâ, âdisrupting the classroom environmentâ, âdisobeying elder peersâ, and âunionizing the grade eleven gym class with intent to incite a mutinyâ (as per me) and you end up with a Grown Adult who will absolutely encourage and enable other peopleâs children to fuck the sustem
Anyhow the most empowering shit you can say to a kid in my experience has to be
âWow that adult was being a jerkâ
âThat sounds really frustratingâ
âGood job handling that, I would have lost my mindâ
âItâs cool, I donât expect you to remember meâ
âYou donât have to hug me if you donât want toâ
âYeah sometimes (authority figure you canât avoid) doesnât know what theyâre talking about, itâs not your fault, just do your bestâ
âI donât totally understand what you mean but I get that youâre upset, is there anything I can do?â
âWanna go yell and break stuff with me?â
âYou donât need to be friends with that kid as long as you can still be politeâ
âIf an adult tells you to do something that will get you hurt, you donât have to listen.â
âMy number one goal is to keep you safe, but I donât know everything and sometimes Iâm wrong, so let me know if I make a mistake.â
âMan. Today sucked.â
âYeah I also kinda wanna cry right nowâ
âWhoops, yeah, my badâ
âI donât know the answer to that but we can probably figure it outâ
I also enjoy modern au goth Harrowhark. But canonically she isnât alternative. Sheâs like thee extreme of her cultures traditions and stereotypes Iâm sorry. Sheâs not ur emo gf. Sheâd be ur classmate who wears brown ankle length skirts and might be happier in a nunnery. She has severe mental illness and it is kissing her faith on the mouth and having neurotic religiously obsessive babies. People would say she reminds them of Carrie white except cold and mean. While u were at hot topic she was reciting the bible from memory in a dark room and abstaining. I want to see modern au Harrow where she veils! I want to see Harrow at uni weirding out her classmates with her unmasked autism and shivering little dog demeanour. Yes yes lesbians want her but gay people understand the allure of an offline girlfriend who collects dead animal pieces and âdisplaysâ them in rows on her chest of drawers. She doesnât wanna look hot!! She doesnât wanna go to the mall!!! She has never seen the craft sorry lesbians she doesnât own a tv. She also doesnât own a laptop (she uses the one at the library or school) and thatâs the only reason sheâs not been the centre of a tumblr discourse. Possibly about unsanitary bloodplay. Maybe just for being an uppity cunt. I wanna see modern Harrow having the time of her life discussing some deeply uncool academic topic in the corner of the room at a close intimate gathering of friends. Sheâs having the time of her life. Sheâs wearing a shapeless beige knit jumper. Coronabeth is there in fashion nova
the monkâs tea wagon
(how I think Dexâs cart looks like from A Psalm for the Wild Built by Becky Chambers)
âYou keep asking why your work is not enough, and I donât know how to answer that, because it is enough to exist in the world and marvel at it. You donât need to justify that, or earn it. You are allowed to just live.â
â Becky Chambers, A Psalm for the Wild-Built
I understand all the numerous reasons it didn't happen but I fully believe that Max and Vane should have had at least one instance of convoluted revenge sex proxy fucking that only barely parses as erotic. Like. I feel that would have fixed many, many things. Just, connect both ends of the carribeans most toxic polycule and see what happens.
Also jack would be hiding in a hole having an anyursm.
Sorry Rodgers, your second wife's exes have unionized. Or well, your second wife's ex boyfriend got together with his boy bestie's soulmates girlfriend who also had a thing with your second wife. Yeah, there's yet another murderous redhead in there somewhere.
So. Like. I get you got a lot riding on this whole retake Nassau thing, but have you considered changing your name and fleeing the continent?

Stupid, chauvinist misogyny: Men are X, which is good, while Women are Y, which is bad
Woke, Feminist Take: Men are X, which is reactionary, while women are Y, which is enlightened
Maybe, just spitballing here, maybe we don't have to do the "Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars" stuff at all. Maybe men and women aren't all that different, maybe the differences between individuals are far more important, maybe we just talk about good or bad behaviors directly instead of having to force everything into war of the sexes shit.
Some of you learned the shadows on the wall are fake but are stuck insisting the puppets being used to cast them are real
I can't even engage with the premise of the question of "How should we keep kids safe on the internet?" or "Whose responsibility is it to keep kids safe on the internet?" without first establishing exactly what "dangers" we're supposed to be worried about keeping kids "safe" from.
See, according to me, the dangers kids face on the internet are largely the same dangers adults face -- misinformation, scams, harassment, doxxing.
Anybody, of any age, can fall for misinformation or scams. Anybody, of any age, can be the victim of harassment or doxxing.
But to the extent that kids are generally more at risk of these things than adults are, it's because they have less of an experiential knowledge base to draw from to protect themselves.
An 8 year old may be more likely than an adult to think a "You've won $1000, click here to claim your prize!" banner ad is legit just because they've never seen one before. But as anyone who's ever met a septuagenarian with their first smartphone before -- or even anyone who's looked at the statistics around elder-targeted cybercrime -- knows, it's not like age is guaranteed to protect against these things.
And the best solution for keeping kids safe from these things is the same as the best solution for keeping adults safe -- providing lots of information and support for fact-checking and critical thinking about everything you encounter. What's the source for that information? What's the source's source? Is someone trying to convince you of something? Are they trying to sell you something? Are they trying to blame someone or make you hate someone? Why? Does it make sense that someone would just give money away to strangers? Why would they do that? Why does someone want to know where you live? Yes, they're your friend, but do they want something from you? Adults shouldn't extract things from kids. Are they trying to convince you there's a problem and sell you a solution to it? Are they warning you that something terrible is going to happen unless you do something specific right this second? Did you read the article or just the headline? Check Wikipedia. Check the Associated Press. Check Scarleteen. Check different sources!
But. Then I realize that when most people talk about "kids in danger" or "keeping kids safe," they mean from, like. Seeing a boob.
