The Pitt has every character I could ever wish for:
-Competent fatherly figure who is two minutes away from a mental break. Representation for guys who stare into mirrors while have ptsd episodes
-His relatively unhinged hyper competent friend who belongs on a battlefield probably .
-A third beautiful hyper competent doctor who keeps getting beat with hammers by the universe when she tries to smile.
-Efficient and hardworking single mom with beautiful blunt bangs. And threatens her deadbeat baby daddy
-the most beautiful princess Diana in the world who keeps getting reprimanded for being too good with patients. They literally said ohhhh pretty girl letâs hate on her
-mean cocky lesbian who threatens pedophiles. Only been there seven hours and already has an age gap toxic situationship yuri thing with another doctor. I live
-autistic queeny whoâs actually proving to be the #1 communicator and caretaker in the whole hospital. Pure of soul and mind. Keeps following her resident around like a puppy dog
-said resident who only likes his little autistic intern. Has crazzzyyyy beef with the mean lesbian. Is also stealing pills from the hospital. Love his vibes
-child prodigy med student who is also on the verge of a breakdown. Intellectual prowess but has absolutely no game. Makes sense bc sheâs 20. needs to yell at her mom
-worlds mousiest pathetic white boy with the saddest eyes Iâve ever seen like actually. You know the bisexuals are going crazy over him
Thatâs family
remember in 2007 or 2008 when emo was at its peak and gay marriage wasn't legal and so we had boys in eyeliner and skirts making out with each other at the mall in protest. i think we need this again
i know the floppy haired emo boys of 2006 and 2007 are in their late 30s now and perhaps even their 40s and they have jobs in tech and middle management but PLEASE. we need you. we need you to dye your hair black and put your fucking snakebites back in and paint your nails and go to the mall and kiss each other
i dont care that you have a wife if she's cool she'll get it
Lights Out ending with a mobster story was unexpected. The poorly (not) negotiated kinks makes it just as bad as 50 Shades, but⌠not, because morally beige woman, propping women up, and the realness of owning a cat.
no no itâs still pretty bad
Growing up in a super gay household, I was always encouraged to date men because âwomen suck,â and, âbisexuals are just greedy.â

Can lyrebirds also mimic human speech like parrots or just ambient noises and other birdcalls?
yeah they can imitate full sentences! here's one complaining about no sunblock
If I went camping and kept hearing shit like this from locations I couldn't identify I would start believing in ghosts
The worst is when they mimic kids crying and screaming and shit, which they do often in zoos because they're zoos
Taronga Zoo in Sydney had an emergency evacuation . . . and the resident lyrebird learned to mimic the evacuation alarm, complete with the "Evacuate now" voiced by a very Aussie sounding human.
Okay that clinches it I fucking hate these birds

How Mexicans feel about duendes too.
True. Most Irish people, as Norwegians do with Trolls, will happily let the 'fairies' be a thing to make tours for tourists and idle threats to make children behave. Most Irish people will have a very normal and mature explanation of fairies as a common folk mythology that expresses some dimension of Irish culture but are not, obviously, to be taken literally.
And most Irish people, if you ask them to move a stone from a fairy circle will immoveably, flatly respond with 'absolutely fucking not'.
Construction projects have had to halt and be abandoned for it.
At work me and a couple coworkers (black, white, and mexican) had a fun discussion on whether there are more ghosts at a hospital or a cemetery.
everyone individually took a moment to specify that ghosts probably aren't REAL real. then weighed in on where and why.
for the record my position was that there's probably way more ghosts in hospitals because that's where people die horribly, but since you can only see ghosts in dark, solitary conditions, graveyards at night is where the majority of ghost sightings occur. hospitals are usually well lit and busy, so even if they're crammed with ghosts the living are too damn busy to see them. meanwhile if a cemetery has even one ghost that followed her corpse there from the hospital, she'll be spotted because that's where all the ghost hunters go to look.
this theory was received as extremely sensible, and a coworker drew the conclusion that that's why abandoned hospitals are even scarier than graveyards. once the place gets abandoned then you can tell how much ghosts got built up.
we all liked this explanation a lot and explained it to everyone else all night. and of course, none of us believe in ghosts.

Teeth falling out like pieces of white Nerds candy. Front teeth being ripped off as I try to open my mouth but they get caught and I have no choice.

AN AUTISTIC ACE CHARACTER???? IN MY MEDICAL DRAMA????????
If you have bodily autonomy, then there is always a chance that you will do something to your body that you will regret. This is not an argument for taking that autonomy away.
candy corn behind my ear
why do all hetero dark romance novels all end in babies?
what is THE worst thing you've ever drank. all liquids acceptable. please tell me what it was, bonus points for why
If we're willing to blur the lines a little to "liquid that got in my mouth and i tasted it", then truly the worst was liquid clindamycin... after it splashed off the roof of a dog's mouth while I was administering it. It's so bitter, like chewing an orange peel but without the citrus flavor and nothing would make it go away for the next 3 hours.
Second is shared by various topical flea products. I eventually learned to not talk while administering those at work. They make you drool for hours.
Third, which was point blank my fault, was puppy milk replacement formula. I had a can of sprite in one hand, and a can of Esbilac in the other and Mistakes Were Made. This is also the only one where I truly drank it. A great big gulp. It tastes like rotten dirt.
Liquid Versed (heavy-duty anti-anxiety med).
I was already in terrible shape anxiety-wise before a surgery when I was fifteen (I'd been in the hospital barely-not-dying for most of a week) and the surgeon (bless) had them inject Versed in my IV before they took me down to surgery prep.
There's photographic evidence but I don't even remember that period; I was clearly having a great time.
Anyway, I told them of this success the next time I had a major general anesthesia procedure.
They brought me a little cup of liquid that tasted like battery acid (I am being mostly hyperbolic, I've never licked battery acid. on purpose. I may have gotten some particles in my nose/mouth. this is what I'm going off of.), including feeling like it was burning through my tongue.
It worked, but less well than the IV version, and also it was horrible.
If we relax what counts as a liquid, there's also the time I swallowed about a gallon (estimated, I don't know; it was too much) of lake water complete with two live fish.
I was water skiing and you see, for partially this reason, when you fall you are supposed to let go of the rope. Or you will be towed along through/under water. And. Likely swallow if not breathe it.
I did not let go, because I had fallen, and reflex is to hang on.
Top three that I can clearly remember: *Gas station bottle of Dr Pepper that happened to be full of ants *Kombucha *Safeway Select Ginger Beer (actually returned that shit) *Not including various beers and such because they all suck imo Things that were better than that: *Coffee mixed with Grapefruit Juice (or Cranberry) *Codeine Cough Syrup, flavored PeachMint
Bitter Yuck, professional strength. We put it on animal bandage wrappings. You wouldnât know it was on you until lunch time. Lost a lot of good sandwiches that way.

I started using Head and Shoulders ten years ago for itchy scalp and dandruff, and then for ten years I have not had itchy scalp and dandruff, so I thought âwhy do I still buy shampoo to combat itchy scalp and dandruff when I do not have itchy scalp and dandruff,â so I stopped buying the shampoo for itchy scalp and dandruff and can you guess I have now? Can you predict what currently afflicts me? Itâs alright if you canât because apparently I fuckin couldnât either
Cutting something out of your life because you think you donât need it any more only to realize that it was in fact working as intended and preventing a problem that will return should you stop doing this is a good experiment to run periodically with something small like dandruff shampoo, lest you start to think it would be a good idea to do this with like letâs say public health and the social safety net and vaccines
I had a liver transplant when I was 14 and like six months later I was chatting with my surgeon and he said âthereâs gonna come a time, probably when youâre a teenager, where youâre gonna think, âI feel great, why am I still taking all this medication? I havenât needed it in years.â and youâre gonna want to stop taking all this medication. Guess whatâs gonna happen then? Youâre gonna go into rejection and your liver is gonna start failing, and youâre gonna be dying again, and weâre gonna have to find you another liver. So donât do that.â And I said âwhy the fuck would anyone do that?â and he said âpeople are stupid.â
every once in a while when I get annoyed by a pharmacy or donât wanna get out of bed to do my drugs I think âugh, this is dumb, why do I do this?â and that conversation slams into me like a truck and I remember that I am, in fact, stupid

Every person on earth needs to read this post. It will make peopleâs lives a lot better and lessen the crises everyone faces in day-to-day lives.
I stopped taking my ADHD meds because, well, I could. I felt fine. I had stuff in order. But the disruption in schedule fucked shit up, I spiraled, had a bipolar episode, and am now looking for a new job.
Just because you can doesnât mean you should.
One underappreciated thing about visiting somewhere completely different where you've got local hosts to hang out with is when you've gotten used to seeing wild shit that would absolutely not fly at home, and going "wow, this would be illegal where I'm from", but you're chill because when in rome you do as romans do.
And then at some point you're all in the middle of doing stuff and you make that remark again, and your host just goes "yeah it's illegal here too, we're just straight-up breaking the law rn."
And you just go aye, fair enough.
