Getting really tired of how all the anti porn censorship posts going around are like, "I don't like porn but I will defend it" or "it was bad for me to see porn young but it's better than the alternative." I like porn. I want to see porn. I was not damaged by seeing porn as a young person. Porn and erotica are valid and fun vehicles for artistic expression and completely normal expressions of human sexuality. We gain nothing by being squeamish in our support of porn, erotica, and nsfw content.

1992 Los Angeles riots. My family was living in LA, we were actually just preparing to move so it's this weird mess of boxes and burning and my parents being outraged (not surprised) at the outcome of the trial. I feel like that being the first news story I can remember is very on brand since it was my parents who taught me how to protest.

We were NOT a news family, so I missed a lot of stuff. I do remember in grade school when 'Lorena Bobbitt' became a thing in 1993. I knew, through other kids, that she'd cut her husbands wiener off. Bobbitting entered children's lexicon not unlike the 6-7 thing. The first news stuff I remember clocking at the source- magazine covers, mostly- was JonBenet Ramsey. Pictures of her sad-eyed face in those elaborate pageant costumes were everywhere.

It's funny, but when I see a massive truck, or a heinously loud motorcycle being revved in front of someone, it is such Small Dick Energy to me, which I assume is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what they intend.

Libgen also has many books online, including textbooks, searchable by name, author, and ISBN. Can you imagine textbook companies not getting their hard-earned income from poor college students? Here is the link just so you make sure that you never accidentally stumble across this horrible, unethical website.

Oh, and while we’re talking about books, if you’ve managed to stay clear from Libgen, definitely don’t go to zlibrary, where you can also find a lot of textbooks, but unfortunately they’re completely free.

Many authors of papers are on ResearchGate! You can ask for papers there, if they don’t just post a copy to download. If they’re associated with a college, you can usually find their email addresses in the department directory, also.

You fall in love with the less-cute sister because it turns out she’s really witty and charismatic but she already knows and remembers and resents the fact that on a day when you were in a shitty mood you called her mid out loud in a dive bar.’
