Chris Eccleston on that shit let him talk!!!!
NOW IS HER TIME!!!!!!! where is SHE????
The most interesting thing about watching all the Bond movies in order hasn’t actually been anything to do with the series itself, but watching the world slowly change. Bond is kind of unique in this because it’s one of the only media franchises that’s been running uninterrupted for 60+ years, while always being set in the “present day,” primarily taking place in somewhat realistic settings and places, and not being 100% sci fi to an extent that divorces it from the overall look of it’s contemporary reality. James Bond, unlike any other series, really, allows you to watch the real world slowly change from the early 60s to 2021, in increments so brief it feels as if nothing changes from film to film, and yet by the time you get to the end everything is different
''what if my writing isn't good eno--'' what if it's a reflection of your soul. what if it has a place in this world. what if you write it anyway
Joy and happiness and sunshine and rainbows 😊 <- me when I look at these two being friends

Trust & Safety Phishing Comments
Date Posted: July 23, 2026
AO3 has recently seen a wave of comments claiming to be made by the "AO3 Trust & Safety team", notifying you that your account has been restricted. These claims are not true. These comments are not being made by real AO3 volunteers and your account has not been restricted.
AO3 volunteers, including the Policy & Abuse committee, will never communicate with you through comments on your work. All important communications from AO3 will be sent through the email associated with your account. More general announcements will be posted on our official social media accounts or published as news posts on AO3 or OTW.org.
If you receive one of these comments, do not click on any of the links in it, reply to it, or interact with it in any way. The links in these comments lead to sites asking you to verify your identity by providing payment information. This is a common credit card scam. AO3 does not ever ask users to provide payment information, and the Policy & Abuse committee will never comment on your works asking you to "complete an identity verification process".
If you encounter one of these comments or believe your account has been compromised, please view the instructions under the cut!
AO3 SCAM
There's been a number of people reporting over on the AO3 subreddit that they're getting messages like this posted in the comments shortly after posting new fics.
The AO3 team are NEVER going to try and contact you about TOS violations via the comment section (or about anything else for that matter)
Don't click any links. Report the accounts involved (which might claim to be things like "LucySupport"), delete the message and move on.
✨Signal boost if you can!✨
Yes to most of this, but do NOT delete the comments if you're going to report! The AO3 team needs to be able to see the comments in order to take action against the spambot accounts.
The first comment I got on Give Up Forever last night was one of these
Sherlock Holmes, world’s happiest service sub.
What kills me about this is that (1) Joan came over the night before wearing dressy date clothes. So if she doesn’t have any clothes left at the brownstone, does that mean she’s sleeping in one of Sherlock’s t-shirts? I VOTE YES. And (2) she approves of the dress, which is adorable, but then if you keep watching, she opens up the box and there are HIGH HEELED ANKLE BOOTS in there. As I just noted, Joan came over the night before wearing perfectly fine dressy shoes! I can totally understand Sherlock planning ahead and storing up an extra outfit, just in case Joan comes over & spends the night & they’re in a big hurry in the morning…. but in what scenario is she not going to be wearing shoes already? Any time Joan comes over, she’s going to be wearing shoes. Sherlock did not need to buy her new shoes. HE JUST WANTED TO and also probably he did it so that Joan would have shoes to complement her dress. What if Joan’s shoes from the night before didn’t go with the dress Sherlock bought? UNTHINKABLE. Sherlock will not let Joan out in public looking less than her 100% best. That means a dress AND the perfect shoes to go with.
Yeah sure Tumblr is a hellsite but I know someone who wrote a fanfic in the 1990s that someone else didn’t like, so when she was selling printed copies of the zine with the story in it out of her hotel room at a convention, this other woman STOOD IN FRONT OF HER DOOR TO REFUSE PEOPLE ACCESS. Because the story featured a ship she disliked. And I feel like somehow, 10,000 Tumblrs still can’t compare to that level of Extra.
Your periodic reminder that the technology and the scale of distribution changes, the basic impulse to fandom wank does not
I’ve actually heard about this event [or a similar event, which I can believe] from someone who was trying to get into the room to either buy the zine, or visit with the writer, or just see what was going on [idr]. Apparently it was quite the talk of the bar that night, and resulted in several heated [re: drunken] debates over whether Door Stander was violating Writer’s free speech, or if removing Door Stander would have violated Door Stander’s free speech.
Me, at the time, a 19yo with very little understanding of the law: “I mean…was it?”
Fandom Friend, who was a 40-something lawyer: “I’ll tell you the same thing I told everyone in that bar. No one was violating anyone’s free speech. Bitch was just being rude, and worse, obnoxious about it. You ever act like that in public, be aware you’re not changing anyone’s opinion. You’re just giving them a brand new opinion about you.”
It was a very formative conversation in my young adulthood.
Same person also told me to never mix coke and acid. Which was also pretty solid advice.

there are two wolves inside of me
the one that wants to help people search and filter better by demonstrating how I just realized that the way I was searching was stopping me from finding what I wanted
and the one that does not want to air out my particular interests on a platform of any size 😆
(anyone have a thing they've been trying to find and can't?)
You know what? fuck it.
So I was searching for "Jane Foster size queen" at first. But then I realized that putting both the character and the descriptor in the same tag wouldn't work.
In order for that to exist as a single tag, it would need to be a popular enough idea in the MCU fandom for at least three different authors to have used it. And with a fandom the size of the MCU, it's probably closer to 5 or 10.
So then I tried using the search form to find the character Jane Foster along with the additional tag size queen. But that returned zero results, and I realized that size queen isn't a canonical tag, so I was asking AO3 to find Jane Foster fics with the tag "size queen" instead of the concept.
So then I went to the tag search and looked up size queen and checked off the wrangling status as "canonical or synonymous" and that gave me 627 synonyms for the concept I was looking for and the first four results included a character name, but the fifth one was just "also he's a size queen" so I clicked on that and I found out that the canonical tag I could use to find fics with that concept was size kink
so I went back to the search form and looked up character Jane Foster and additional tag size kink and I got 39 results.
hope this helps!
No, your oc isn't too cringe or a Mary sue. Yes, it's completely fine that it looks similar to your other ocs. Yes it's completely fine that it looks similar to a Canon character design. No it's not uncreative. No the design isn't shitty. No the backstory doesn't have to make perfect sense or be all figured out. Yes it can be self indulgent or unrealistic or overly sappy. No you don't draw your favorite character too much. Yes you can flip flop between developing whatever characters you want. No you don't have to keep the parts of your character that you don't like or that make you uncomfortable just for the sake of consistency, realism or whatever else
Did you know. That it's okay to make imperfect characters. Did you know you don't owe anyone a certain level of quality or a certain style of writing.
Did you know, that you're allowed to have fucking fun.
Did you know that the rise of cringe culture, "Mary sues" and the whole sphere of art critics and ranters getting popular on YouTube around the 2010s/ 20teens contributed to alot of people having terrible self esteem about their creativity. That so many people still as adults remember the things they were mocked about as teens. Over what? Ocs? Drawing pictures of rainbow haired wolf princesses? Imagining they were dating sans undertale? Is that worth making people too scared to draw or make certain kinds of characters. Look in the notes. I guarantee you'll find more than one admitting they stopped doing something they loved because people made fun of them. For doing a hobby. For not being good enough.
You don't need to be good enough to do art. You can just do art. I'm rooting for you.
My preferred way to watch the Star Wars movies is 4,5,1,2,3,6. Not saying this is objectively the best way, but it preserves most of the plot twists. In this order, the PT functions as an extended flashback after Vader reveals himself as Luke's father, showing what happened to him and providing context for both Vader's internal conflict and Palpatine's machinations in RotJ.
Additionally, the birth scene in RotS when Padmé names the second baby Leia becomes a kick in the teeth for first time viewers. If you watch OT then PT, you already have that information. If you watch PT then OT you don't even know those characters yet. This way it becomes a reveal that follows up on Yoda's "there is another" line and Leia being able to sense Luke with the Force in ESB. It works as well as any version of that reveal possibly could given the framework.
Also this way, you see Anakin's whole fall to the Dark Side, and then the next thing you turn on is RotJ, and Luke's first appearance in that movie has him lightly Force-choking Jabba's guards while wearing black Jedi robes similar to Anakin's in RotS. It offers just that little bit more uncertainty over whether Luke actually could fall.
this one turned out to be quite the mission to draw, had a great ref for the head but the body one was so low quality 😅 think i managed to make it work somewhat

Between 1921 and 1923, the Stoll production company made the most complete adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes stories ever, including all 45 short stories that had been published at the time and 2 of the novels. Leading actor Eille Norwood was apparently so devoted to the role he learned the violin for it, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle saw the series and praised it for its loyalty to the stories. And it's one of very few silent adaptations to feature Watson in his role from canon, rather than just a cameo (or absent entirely).
Unlike many silent films, none of the films in the series appear to have been lost, and in 2024 the British Film Institute announced a probably decades-long project to restore them all. Three of the films have already been restored and were shown at the BFI Film Festival. It looks like the BFI has digital viewing copies of all of the films (series 1, 2, and 3, and feature), but sadly it looks like they have to be viewed on premises at the BFI, I assume because the series will be under copyright in the UK until 2037.
Currently, only 4 of the films have been made available online by some generous denizens of the internet (the best versions of each that I could find are linked here): three short films from 1921 adapting The Dying Detective, The Devil's Foot, and The Man with the Twisted Lip, and the feature length The Sign of Four (1923).
Thank you so much for sharing this!
Please enjoy this series of screenshots I took of Dying Detective while making pterodactyl noises, it's vey fun to see what decisions they made adapting this:
(Mrs Hudson passing on TO WATSON that delirious Holmes was calling Watson a "good old ass")
Holmes looking beautific while being ill:
Holmes: I've got a GUN!
Watson: And I've got A PEN AND PAPER!
And then there's The Devil's Foot. I took loads of screenshots of Holmes and Watson going on a clifftop walk together:
Turns out there isn't much room for getting consent from your friend to try out an unknown substance which causes psychosematic effects and eventually death when you only have title cards:
How's that going for your both
Eh, I think they'll be ok.
