I'm making a new post as the old one lost traction, but if you've been following me for a while, you might know about my friend Mohammad Ramadan (vetted by @gazavetters, #313 on spreadsheet). My friend lives in Gaza, along with his young daughter and wife, Zeina. On the days that they don't fear bombings and raids, they battle the cold weather and storms that have wreaked havoc over Gaza this winter. He dreams of leaving Gaza so that his daughter, who knows no life outside of war, can grow up in safety and dignity.
Mohammad is 25 years old, and studied interior design and engineering before the war. He is living in Khan Younis now with his family. His tent floods regularly due to the storms, and they are often forced to relocate for adequate shelter. Through these hardships, Mohammad and Zeina work tirelessly to care for their 3 year old daughter Ahlam. She remains a light of hope for her parents, despite the trauma she was born into. Mohammad also cares for his extended family, including his diabetic mother (donate here) and 7 sisters (donate to Kawthar here).
Mohammad struggles with failing vision, which has severely impacted his ability to travel for supplies and food. There are few avenues to accessing care, and his condition continues to worsen in war. Ahlam suffers frequent colds and flus, due to her exposure to elements and inadequate shelter.
