Saving people in emergencies? Firefighter or EMS. (You probably have a good chunk of the training for that already, assuming your cop training wasn't completely dogshit.)

Helping people get out of bad situations? Family/child protective services, or volunteer for various shelters, food banks, etc.

Advising people on how to navigate troubled lives? Therapist/counsellor

Have a special interest in the law? Paralegal, judicial aide, or lawyer.

Keeping people safe? Safety inspector

Investigating crimes and solving puzzles? Private investigator or lawyer, or if you have a head for numbers, accountant or tax examiner

Being a hero to kids? Teacher, coach, or school counsellor

Literally anything you enjoy about being a cop can be done better, more ethically, and sexier by some other job. You have a choice to be happier and help more people by being almost anything else.

Ok like. Imagine life without ads. You wake up, check your messages across a variety of apps, no ads. You get up and put on the tv while you prep your breakfast, no ads. Maybe you drive somewhere and switch on the radio, no ads. Maybe you drive a long distance, yet somehow, not a single billboard on your path. You pick up a newspaper or magazine to pass the time, no advertisements only articles. You turn on your game console, the home screen is just about your games, no ads to buy more. You open a streaming app, you don't pay extra for no ads, there's just no ads ever.

Think about how much of your time is spent looking at ads. "Download ublock" yeah I know, I have. But that doesn't change that the world is covered with endless advertising. Imagine never seeing that again. How much better our lives would be.

#the thing is #ads don't work like they used to #we once needed ads to show us the new things mankind was coming up with for products #but now we get it #we know what a phone is we can read the instructions on cleaning products #we can make informed decisions #so stop bombarding us with them every friggin hour of the day #also the more annoying and persistent an ad is the less likely i am to want to buy the product #my petty brain is just like that
