Not only is it not weird, it is ACTIVELY ENCOURAGED. Authors LOVE IT when people do this!!! Its not "weird" and its not "neutral" -- its a fucking DELIGHT. Feel very absolutely free to read though an author's entire back catalogue, leaving kudos and/or comments along the way; we absolutely freaking love when someone does this. There is nothing more joyful than getting a comment notification for an old fic. It will make our day, I promise.

Something about the church being a dangerous and oppressive place to naim but also constantly mirroring his journey..."will she let love into her life" being spoken by the pastor over the image of naim smiling as he walks home after his and Ryan's first kiss. His mom sharing her story saying "I found someone else in the silence" as he looks at ryan in a pew in front of him...the church as a structure hurts them and the Bible is used against them but the testimonials of actual people going to the church constantly mirror their story and their feelings for each other
