To befriend Shane Hollander, you have to aggressively force him into it. He has so much social anxiety and such a need for control that he will never initiate a friendship because he constantly thinks he’s bothering people. You have to completely ignore his polite aloofness and just decide you’re best friends now. That’s definitely how Hayden adopted him, and it’s exactly why Hazy is the one who would actually become Shane's bestie.

Hazy is way too social and open to care about Shane's chilly exterior. He would literally force feed Shane his presence until Shane randomly wakes up one day and finds himself hanging out one on one with Hazy at his house. Hazy would just show up with takeout, plop down on the couch, and start rambling about some reality TV show until Shane just sighs, accepts his fate, and realizes three months later that they are attached at the hip.

in the second movie, gwen mentioned to finn abt how he doesn’t have any friends. finney denies it and says he does and gwen is like “name one”.

i know finn wanted to say robin… anyways. what if the reason finney doesn’t have any friends is because the last friend he had died at the hands of a pedo serial killer? maybe he’s too scared to make another friend.

my personal opinion: i think gwen was in the wrong for saying that. finney lost his best friend—his only friend—due to something traumatic happening. no, the two didn’t fall out and just quit talking. one of them died! and then, tbh, the other died after. robin is dead. finn is alive but is he really? a piece of him died down in the basement with robin.

finney is autistic and his special interest is astronomy. i hc that finney also has dyspraxia which is why he seems to be so clumsy.

robin has adhd and dyscalculia in my mind, with a hyperfixation on horror ofc. he appreciates it whenever finney sits down and helps him with math.
