One-sided Moreid where Derek realized it early on, probably before Spencer himself did, and found it cute, but ultimately promised to himself that if it wasn't an puppy crush that vanished on it's own he would be directo with Spencer- he doesn't want him to have hoped only to be hurt.

One-sided Moreid where the puppy crush never goes away, instead becomes BIG crush, and Derek never could reject Spencer. Hurting him like that after the 2582582578582 bad things that happened to him through the show just didn't felt right.

Like I know that is his entire thing, he doesn't like to see people go, and it wasn't a good moment anyways- but the way it was framed??? with him running off after seeing J.J say her own goodbyes, knowing he was next?? Derek´s I AM SORRY I CAN´T STAY WITH YOU, the I love yous that were implied in that other very wild season 11 scene??? THE FINAL SCENE WITH SPENCER BEING THE LAST THING DEREK SAW OF THE BULLPEN???

Imagine a group of large burly men approaching you and you literally can't see their faces and judge their intentions

Like we all obviously know about Spencer being parantified to an gigantic degree.... but the way he says, and I QUOTE, how he cant imagine a world where he is not Diana´s caregiver? How he saw his dad walk away and his first instinct was to try and fill in his role? ("You are weak" "I am not weak") and how he repeats this in his darkest moment, way later as an adult?

Diana didn't appear herself nearly as much for casting reasons, but when she DID show up, it was during very poignant moments to really drive home Spencers idenity besides his job....or rather, lack of.

Think about it, he tried to distance himself from her since he left her in care and even then he just sadly looking at her from afar- and yeah, it obviously plays on his guilt of having to force her out of her house, but there is also a certain magnetism that he would always end up by her side in some way. Revelations drive this point even less subtly lmao

Obviously loving your disabled parent, especially when there is no other parent, is like.... evident xd but Spencer is not, under any way, shape or form, a healthy person even before he was tied and tortured for two days. Or saw his girlfriend die. Or was shot. Or went to prison- you get the point.
