Teratophiliacs were once a niche group that bonded over their sexual attraction to monsters in obscure forums. Nowāas online communities pro
Okay guys, weāve got to wrap it up now with the monsterfucking and find something new to do. Itās getting write-ups in GQ, itās so over.
Sometimes, in their obsession with monsters, humans end up finding other humans. In 2019, CachĆ©t developed a crush on Salad Fingers, the main character in a British cult web cartoon. She drew porn of Salad Fingers and sent it to David Firth, the showās creator. Firth loved it and followed her back. āHe thought I was a guy because no girl would draw porn of Salad Fingers,ā CachĆ©t says.
They started messaging. CachƩt complimented his drawing of a human-bug threesome and asked for a print. Three years later, CachƩt and David got married. The human-bug threesome drawing hangs on the wall of their home.
Okay this does kind of rule though.
im glad we're mostly out of the "girls are so soft uwu" era. it was really hard for me to go through as a girl with a segmented carapace covered in hundreds of tiny barbs
The thing about the destiel news meme is that I actually think it's great.
It does let you know that something has gone on in the world. But it's such a short format that it could never even pretend to give you all the relevant information about that thing. It usually provides less detail than the average headline, so it's not actually reporting, it's more like shouting a head's up across a crowded room. Still lets you know that something has happened though.
The very fact that it's a goofy and irreverent fandom meme also serves as a perpetual reminder that using social media to get news is a bad idea. Now that you know something has occurred, go read an actual article from a real source to verify it and get the details. It's an alert system with a format that never lets you forget that alerts are not articles, and that this website is not beholden to any kind of journalistic integrity.
I love it, the comments on destiel news memes are almost always full of people saying that they saw it and then rushed off to go verify the news with a reputable source. Do you know how often more "serious" format news stuff on this site just leaves people complacently certain that they've been given accurate info? Way too often. I wish half as many of those news updates had people commenting that they left tumblr to go double check it.

"there's no platonic explanation for this" some of y'all need better friends
"there's no platonic explanation for this" some of y'all need to be better friends
Huh? What's this?? Something is on this 5c coin???
ENHANCE
whenever i see someone lambast a piece of media for portraying a character getting away with bad behavior instead of getting narratively punished, i have to laugh because thatās literally the hays code. itās not hays-code-esque or hays-code-coded, itās just straight up the hays code.

some people will be like āI wonder why fanfic writers donāt share their works anymorešā and then this is them when a writer is kind enough to share something they write ā as a hobby, for their own enjoyment ā with them for free.
some people really donāt realize how privileged they are that they get fanfics for free. imagine having access to something for free because someone is kind enough to share it with you⦠and then being rude, entitled and an ungrateful pos to that person who was kind enough to share their creation with you for free
āalmost 1 year is a lil too much for meā fuck off. fanfic writers donāt owe you anything. one of my favorite fics was updated after 13 years, and what I did is that I thanked the author for choosing to continue the work, I didnāt act like a spoiled toddler by asking why they didnāt update sooner. and even if a writer chooses to abandon their fic permanently with no explanation, that is their choice, their hobby, their decision. they donāt owe your entitled ass anything.
you people let tiktok rot your brains to the point you see everything as content farm and engagement. not a piece of art created by the artistās love and passion. itās dystopian.
You know that whatever character did those problematic things isn't like. Real, right?
You are aware that a fictional character is just a rhetorical construct designed to fulfill a narrative/thematic purpose right? That their actions are written by an author who wants to use them to explore complex ideas and moral gray areas within the safe confines of fiction right? That they aren't a real person who has killed real people right?
From "Goodbye, Lara" anime series directed by Takushi Koide at Kinema Citrus studio, inspired by "The Little Mermaid".
āPeople are inherently terribleā no!!! Have you ever seen a child wait for their friend while they tie their shoelaces? Have you ever known someone who would bring hurt squirrels and rabbits and mice to the nearest vet just so it doesnāt suffer? Have you seen someone grieve? Have you ever read something that hit your heart like a freight train? Have you looked at the stars and felt an unexplainable joy? Have you ever baked bread? Have you shared a meal with a friend? Have you not seen it? All the love? All the good? I know itās hard to see sometimes, I know thereās pain everywhere. But look, thereās a child helping another up after a hard fall. Look, thereās someone giving their umbrella to a stranger. Look, thereās someone admiring the spring flowers. Look, thereās good, thereās good, thereās good. Look!!!!
"We took in a kitten that was starving, injured, and shot with a pellet gun."
"Oh my god, people are awful!"
"They're not. A person rescued her, other people who are trained in helping animals treated her injuries to make her healthy again, and so so so many people contributed to pay her medical costs, I don't even know how many. That she was hurt by...what, one person? Three? Certainly not many. Is honestly maybe the least important and least meaningful part of her story."
"...Oh."
I am holding a triumph of human kindness in my lap right now and her name is Fancy.
Iāll never forget I once had to break the news to two women that their dog had cancer, and as they cried and hugged and asked me questions I said something about how I was grateful this pup had such a loving family to support her- only for these ladies to inform me one of them wasnāt actually an owner at all, she was just the other womanās Uber driverā¦
So this driver tells me sheās literally never met the other lady in her life, but when this passenger started crying in the car with her dog because she was worried, this angel in the form of an Uber driver went off the clock, came inside the building, and waited over an hour in a busy emergency room with a complete stranger just so she would have someone there by her side in a scary situation. This woman even took notes about everything I said so the owner wouldnāt have to try and remember it all later.
I see plenty of stuff at my job that makes me tempted to lose my faith in humanity but all I do is remember that Uber driver and it comes roaring back to me just like that. Humans are so unbelievably good, man.
#weirdly it ended up being a uterine tumor (not super common) and the dog was cured with an OVH#a rare feel good story from the ER š„¹#Uber driver came for the dogās follow up appointment as well!!!

i was training a young person at work, and she referred to sexual assault as "SA" out loud, and i immediately was like, "no, it's sexual assault, call it what it is," bc idgaf if the algorithm overlords have taught y'all that you should fear direct language, how tf do any of you expect to ever address real issues with any amount of seriousness if you can't even say the words? imagine an advocate looking a sexual assault survivor in the eyes and asking "did he grape you?" it's absolutely fucking absurd, but these young interns and new hires are coming into an environment where we deal with survivors of all different kinds of abuse, and they're coming with the mindset that the words are as bad as the actions, and that makes them shitty at the job and look juvenile af
i HATE self-censorship for a lot of reasons, but being in crisis work makes it even more frustrating. who are you censoring for? like i am being so fr, WHO are you censoring for? have you even thought it through? people who have been raped know that they have been raped. if someone attempts suicide or is grieving someone who did, saying "sewer slide" isn't going to protect them from any of the feelings. a murder victim's family isn't going to feel better bc you said "unalived" instead of murdered. if anything, it's just extremely invalidating and othering. it's saying "what happened to you is so bad that i won't even say the word," which is NOT trauma-informed care. you are not protecting survivors/victims when you self-censor. the ONLY things you protect when you self-censor are the puritanical ideologies that are being encouraged by rich fascists who want your money and obedience
say the fucking words, guys. just say the goddamn words before i go insane!!!
Reasons to use "SA" online:
Algorithm hides posts that use the "S word."
Microblogging site where posts have a character limit
Writing an article that mentions it over a dozen times; you spell it out the first time and use the acronym after that
Conversation by text (IM, whatsapp, discord, whatever) and it's faster not to type out the full words
The app you're in censors the actual words and replaces them with something else (like Steam's **** for what it thinks is profanity)
Reasons to use "SA" in person:
