Okay well- not tagged, but my username does actually have a long, complicated, and meandering story behind it, so read it if you wanna:

Initially, I had called myself Kashi Draws (original. I know. Slap 'Draws' onto the end of any name and boom. Artist. It's a canon event for all of us, I swear.) on most platforms, but then, one fateful day, I had been drawing Acorn (At the time named "Kashi") and a girl in my drama class saw it, and was like: "Oh cool, is she a squirrel?"

Now, before this very moment. No. Kashi (Acorn) was not a squirrel. She WAS a wolf at some point, but eventually, I just gave her non-descript animal features. I couldn't figure out what animal I wanted her to be.

But then, that person in my drama class said that.

And everything just clicked.

So I said, "Yeah"

It wasn't all that hard for me to go from squirrel to acorn, plus I've always liked acorns.

As for the "confused" part, I just decided I was a very confused guy and made it my entire internet personality.

So yeah. There's the story of TheConfusedAcorn :p

Oh fun! I think I've done this before but I'll do it again!

My username used to be only-lonely-stars-twinkle (hence why I sometimes go by OLST) - I dropped the last word because it was too long to match every other site I use. As for where it came from, some 6+ years ago I was stargazing, and I remembered hearing that you can only see the dim stars from your periphery, so you can't see them straight-on. They're often alone in the sky, or they get drowned out by brighter neighbors. Plus they're the first to twinkle, because atmospheric disturbances mess with their dim light!

Being the lonely mess I was at the time, I thought: "Hey, that's really encouraging! If the lonely, dim stars are the ones that twinkle, then maybe I, lonely and dim myself, can be special!"

Basically it's a perpetual pep talk that NOTHING is as bad as teenage angst says it is. 💖🌌🌟

welp laid up in bed dealing with a very strange cold so i have time to answer this - although my answer isn't exactly something too exciting lol

this handle is the final phase of a lot of rebranding stuff because i just wasn't happy with my online name/personas for a long time. i've always liked cute little food mascots (my mascot prior to this one was a sentient mochi ball), but i also like cute/cartoony sentient skulls/skeletons, and i adored the idea of having one as my mascot.

so while conceptualizing a new mascot/rebrand, i ended up turning the little ridges on the edge of an ice cream scoop into what would be the jaw of a little skull. i ended up just calling him "skoops" (which was just the combination of "scoop" + "skull") because it was cute. upon checking to see if the name "SkoopOfIceCream" had been taken (which i was positive that it had to have been because ain't no way such a simple spelling alteration hadn't been claimed by now) and every single one of the platforms i use had it available to me.

so my name is not only my name because i have little ice cream skull scoop mascot guy, but because ain't no way am i giving up "SkoopOfIceCream" as a handle lol
