#its been month of pokemon autism + extreme mental health processing so currently this is sending me more than it should #been playing champions for 3 days straight and i am entranced by how incomprehensibly complicated competitive pokemon is #chess + rock paper scissors + poker + random dice rolls + creative problem solving all with little guys who are your friends #best thing about pokemon is the main storylines always being easily solvable if you have a 3rd grade reading level and a little patience #and then if you have the interest in taking it further there are infinite levels of complexity and difficulty to dig through #6yo me getting stuck on ice mazes & thinking stat moves were useless 🤝 30yo me eating shit in every attempt at vgc doubles #i think the gen 3 braille puzzles are the coolest thing ever i think its so fun to have bulbapedia open for quick research mid playthrough #the way the games reward real life engagement with their themes of research and exploration. its good i love pokemon #more to the point of the post though i never knew what the hell foresight did & psychic terrain “things got weird” is my favorite descripto
