frankly love that there is a niche literature side of tumblr where people are just writing full shakespeare essays for fun with cited sources, all lowercase sentences, sixteen exclamation points. tags are getting peer reviewed. takes are getting nuanced. best reading you’ve ever heard of the odyssey is suggested in a post by someone with an avengers profile pic with zero punctuation and ended with “screaming crying throwing up.” it’s like role playing academia in an online jungle gym

Commissioning artists really makes you feel like a renaissance noble. Like you’ll get an email that just says “Hey sorry some things came up but I’m working on your piece and here’s a WIP” and suddenly you’re wearing sumptuous velvets and eating grapes on a reclining couch like “Ohoho! Take as long as you need, my Orpheus! My riches and time are a paltry price to pay to bring your beauty to the world! I am a ~Patron of the Arts!~”

pining is 100000% the most important aspect of pre-relationship fic for me. good-natured whole-hearted pining filled with lovelorn gazing and chest aching and fluttering touches, that’s my top priority. i was put on this earth to watch characters suffer over the profundity of their love for another person. unrequited love is why god made me. characters finding out that their feelings are reciprocated after long months/years of suffering is why the universe was assembled from nothingness. amen.

the reason "robot racism" is often a really stupid metaphor is the same reason that like. discrimination against demons or vampires or whatever doesn't work, is because there's often a pretty justified reasons humans are scared of vampires or robots or whatever, in a way that doesn't apply to real life minorities, like a fantasy author will be like "the reason vampires are discriminated against is because most of them and kill and eat people for fun and pleasure, and so humans respond by trying to kill them, isn't that so sad" and like no that's a perfectly fine reason to not trust vampires i think.

sci-fi writers will be like "every robot on earth randomly decided to kill all humans for no real reason, and now people don't trust robots, and this is a metaphor for racism" and like no you just wrote a metaphor for white people actually.

i dont need to respond to comments on my post this is true. anyways spirits, especially in inquisition onwards, are written to know The Truth. you get what i mean? they are always just the Correct One. they're only the writers' ideas of the concepts they embody. therefore, despite claims otherwise, they will always be objectively correct because the writers' conceptualizations make up the fundamental truth of dragon age. does this make sense. it's midnight
